Wonderful. My father played both clarinet & saxophone in an army band during WW2. He also knew how to play the violin. He played in a string orchestra for twenty five years until he was 100. He passed last year or made his transition as I like to say at age 102. He blessed many with his music.

These guys, whatever they do, they always give it a 101%. They could have done this in their current uniforms and still would have been fantastic, but to actually dress in their Army Air Corps uniform - perfection to details. That lead singer, the looks, the voice, seems like she traveled through a time machine from the late 40's. As expected, the performance and the musical arrangement is impeccable. USAF Band is truly the best military band in the planet.

Dad left for the Army in 1942 and the sad lonely times begin for her until Dad returned in late 1945. They loved to listen to Guy Lombardo every New Years every year for the next 77 years together. I loved to watch them dance when they where younger. Happy News Years America. Thanks AF.

I watch this every year since I first found it on KZbin. I love that, a little more than half way through, those strains of Moonlight Serenade. This is doubtless a tribute to big band leader Glenn Miller. During WWII he served in England as a US Army Air Forces band leader, entertaining troops there, especially at US military convalescent hospitals, attaining the rank of major. In December 15 1944, Major Miller boarded a plane to fly Paris in advance of his band. The plane disappeared over the English Channel.

As it can be remembered, the original US Air Force band was directed by the famous band leader Major Glen Miller who disappeared over the English Channel during WWII. The new Glen Miller Air Force Band came marching-in one unforgettable evening when I was a new Airman at Keesler Air Force back in the mid-50’s. The Base Commander led the march in front of the band with flags flowing and the band following him into Arnold Hall for the most sentimental musical concert I ever attended. We still had a lot of WWII veterans in active service, including the Base Commander and the whole evening turned into a tearjerker!!! Unforgettable to see so many people that sacrificed so much to keep us free, in one building.

I’m among the first years of Gen-X, but was raised with a love of Big Band music. This makes me so many different kinds of happy I can’t even tell you. Bittersweet too, as I wish so much I could show this to my Grandma and my Mom and Dad. I hope that my playing the music they taught me to love brings them close. I just love the WWII era Army Air Corps uniforms. The featured singer reminds me so much of Kate Mulgrew! Guitarists: is that a Les Paul, and is he good? He sure looks like he’s into it!

In this taxpayer funded, Air Force's [de-tribute] to strip God, Christ, Baby Jesus from HIS birthday, so as to promotes Satan's happy snowy, winter solstice celebration, in this once Creator inspired nation? No wonder most folks are going to Hell for Eternity on completion of this short, boot camp [like] training life. It's so sad.

+Alton Accola Just like how they record live concerts or live albums and shows. Microphones all over. Singers got their individual microphones as well as most of the individual instruments. At 1:41 you see the oboist with the microphone wire hanging from his oboe and a transmitter at his belt. The double bass player and the guitarist attached wires to their instruments before they started. The brass section were literally dragging their microphone stands, violins are equipped with remote mics as well, and so forth. At 4:44 you see a guy on the far right sitting down in front of his computer controlling the sound for the sound box. Some mics are so small these days you can hardly see them. The wires and transmitters are usually concealed on their clothing. You'll be surprised when you go to a live broadway show and learn that the actors/singers mics are attached to a strand of their hair and you wont notice it unless you stand right in front of them and look for it.

I love big band music. ❤️ I was really puzzled by their uniforms until I realized that they were dressed up as WWII soldiers in the Army Air Corps. My dad served in the Pacific Theater in the AAC. It became the Air Force after the war.

@@TheUSAFBand My father’s service inspired both myself and my brother to also join the USAF. I only served for 5 years, but my brother retired after 20. I was enlisted (E5), brother was an officer, I think he was a Lt Col when he retired. He had something to do with rockets and getting the first round of GPS satellites in orbit - one of the cogs in the machine, but I was impressed. “Why, yes, my brother IS a rocket scientist!” 😄
