She is fun to listen to, but I swear she is a jinx on the gymnasts. I counted half a dozen times out more where the instant she praises someone, they immediately make a mistake. "Bars are her favorite apparatus" - followed immediately by a fall. "But really her special talent is just her consistency" - Jordan Chiles misses the high bar and falls. Watch both Day 1 & 2 again (because it really was that good), and count how many times a gymnast makes a mistake seconds after she praises them. It's uncanny 🤣

At this point it looks like Simone and Shilese are safe on the worlds team. And I think they should reward Leannes consistency in the all around with a spot as well. She does so well over and over again. I hope Suni will be healthy. She could contribute so much on beam and bars. And then it will be interessting to see how they decide on Jade, Jordan, Joscelyn and Skye. Overall I really enjoyed watching this competition! And I am so happy for Jade that day 2 went better for her :)
@murasakino101
@murasakino101 9 ай бұрын
I agree with Simone and Shilese. Are they doing teams of 5 again? I really hope so. If Suni is healthy, she'll be an instant pick too considering she's Olympic champion and a strong bars and beam worker. Skye would be great for bars and beam too but she really struggles with consistency so I think Joscelyn may be a better pick since she's been pretty solid. Between Jade and Jordan, it'll be tough to choose. Both are solid on floor and vault so it would come down to bars and beam Edit: let's not count out Leanne either! She could be good for bars and beam too and she's been showing a lot more consistency this year ^^

@@murasakino101Shilese does a banned skill on floor and beam. Even her cowboy leg dismount she’ll lose 3 10ths. The banned skills, she loses 10ths for doing them and loses 10ths because they are skills she needs. I sure hope her coach is aware of those things. Her scores would be higher but she’s got to fix those skills especially those that are banned. Jordan Chiles does one on the floor.

I'm glad the media stopped putting women gymnasts against each other like they did with Shawn Johnson and Nastia Liukin. It was awful what hey did to them! I am so glad to hear you and many others voicing the truth about what really goes on in hospitals across the nation, and Kaiser is notorious for ill treatment toward black nurses as well as black workers across the board. I'm retired now, but I dealt with it too. Keep exposing your experiences until change is demanded because going to the supvs, and directors is a waste of time. God Bless you!

This is what I think the worlds team will most likely look like in my opinion: 1) Simone Biles 2) Shilese Jones 3) Leanne Wong 4) Skye Blakely 5) Joscelyn Roberson 6) Tiana Sumanasekera (alternate) The team final lineup would look like this: VT: Jones, Roberson, Biles UB: Biles, Blakely, Jones BB: Jones, Blakely, Biles FX: Wong, Jones, Biles I think this would be the smartest team to take to worlds this year… Jones and Biles have the best chance to medal in the all around, Roberson and Biles for vault, Blakely and Jones for bars, Blakely and Biles for beam, and Jones and Biles for floor. Also, it would allow Tiana Sumanasekera to gain valuable experience being able to train with the worlds team and travel with them.

Does anyone have insight into or a handicapping of the most likely Olympic team at this time? The US appears to have enough for two teams. I'm curious what people that really know gymnastics have to say about where all the gymnasts stand as of now.
@bri4940

I used to be a competitive gymnast then a coach and judge. So i feel i have a decent hold on the sport lol. I think the Olympic team is likely going to be Simone Biles, Jordan Chile's, Leanne Wong, Shilese Jones, possibly Skye Blakely. I think Suni Lee's health is going to effect her too much unfortunately to get back to her peak performance. Jade Carey does have the difficulty but she's really been struggling with her consistency. Jocelyn Roberson really has potential too! I can definitely see her being an alternate.I've been very impressed with her. Altho she is quite young and doesn't have quite enough experience yet. Same with Tianna Sumanasekera lots of potential but shes soo young still.There is still lots of time tho and unfortunately injuries can happen at any moment so we won't have a better idea until closer only speculations right now! But that's what I'm thinking :)

The judges were extremely harsh and unfair towards Jade Carey. They underscored her floor exercise. Her floor exercise deserved a higher score. Her other routines were underscored as well. The judges have no appreciation for Jade Carey and all her contributions she has made for U.S. Gymnastics.

she had obvious execution areas and her artistry could still use some improvement - her routines still lack momentum and a flow, they are still a bit rigid. There were form deductions and landing deductions. Jade wasnt quite at her best this weekend - hopefully her performance and her scores will improve with a few more weeks of practice.

@@dianeandbrad529 It's true that Jade wasn't at her best this weekend--partly because she was competing on an injured shoulder and couldn't feel her arm half the time, and partly because she's still getting her endurance and difficulty back after the college season. But it's also true that she was underscored last night.

I’m not sure what the problem is with Jade Carey. She can’t get away from her father which could contribute to her not loosening up. She’s a strong gymnast and really good but she has no rhythm. I can feel her counting in her head, especially on floor. Joselyn is good and strong but she needs a little more training because she has short thick legs so she can’t use the entire beam or floor. She’s good though.

@@SonOfAGun1814 There are many falls where it's safer for the gymnast to catch themselves. The spotters are only there to step in if it looks like the gymnast could land on their head or neck. The point of this comptition is to do gymnastics, much more than it is for your viewing pleasure.

It’s not his job to stop them from falling. It’s his job to prevent them from getting hurt, or crashing in such a way that they would get injured. He doesn’t care about the camera either because who cares? Safety is more important than entertainment. The routines are captured from multiple angles anyway so blame the cameramen and directors for choosing that angle.
