It's really refreshing to see the level of sportsmanship and team commitment that USA MAG has. Every gymnast is encouraging each other as well as helping to chalk up the PB and HB for one another. The might not be the powerhouse team that China and Japan are, but they are a bunch of classy guys. There isn't a "star" athlete on the team because 4 time National Champion Sam Mikulak is a team player kinda guy. I am glad that USA MAG has shifted away from the big egos that were around for a while. AKA Blaine Wilson and the Hamm twins.
@tackssherbo71048 жыл бұрын
Don't forget that these guys DO NOT make their own egos. You can thank the damned media for all of that. They chase them around trying to get a scoop, ramming mikes down their throats and up their.......kazoos. And frankly, who gives a crap about those interviews when they are all taught to say the same damned things, but only in different words so it doesn't sound memorized. Those idiot interviewers ask the same insipid questions: How does it feel? What do you think your chances are? How many times do you blow your nose? Do you scratch often? Does he/she scratch often? Well, you get the idea. Stupid stupid stupid. If they wouldn't hound them, they wouldn't get those egos.

The US Men's gymnastics team are so much worse than the women's. They get redo's, none of their landings stick, wtf is that. Gymnastics is meant to be power and grace in a beautiful Union. But I will say the men's friendship seems genuine.

I completely agree with you. I mean I know almost nothing about gymnastics, but their support for one another is amazing, their landings however are not.

there should be a deduction for 'celebrating' when landing prior to fully finishing and saluting the judge on every event. do that after you finish and salute the judge. it seems a little unprofessional and annoying to seasoned gymnastics fans. the best in the world don't do that, as it's expected of them to always be great (from others and themselves)
@scentedlikerose29318 жыл бұрын
Who cares if they gloat a bit. They've worked hard for years and I think the audience can handle a little clapping and saluting when the athletes feel proud of themselves.
@SonOfAGun18148 жыл бұрын
after they finish the routine and salute the judge, you should absolutely play to the crowd if you did an amazing job. but, what many usa athletes are doing makes it look like they aren't amazingly great on the regular, which they aren't, which is what's wrong with usa mens gymnastics. they act like they're in a college meet when they're at the olympics. and that's great that they're proud that they did a good job, but you're not even doing a top routine relative to the rest of the world. usa should be DOMINATING the world, like the women, but there are many many reasons why they aren't.
@eurekamreum54586 жыл бұрын
snofagun1814 I know this is a bit late but could you explain me those reasons? I've just recently started to watch men's gymnastics and I've always wondered why they aren't as dominant as their female counterparts.
