Shortened version: General supplements with a healthy diet/lifestyle as your base foundation, if you don't have a healthy diet and lifestyle, supplements won't do much: Start listening at 13:25-17:35 1. A good high quality multivitamin 2. A good high quality fish oil 3. A good high quality of Omega-3 4. Vitamin D3/Vitamin K2 5. Magnesium 6. Probiotic Top 3 Longevity supplements: Start listening at 22:55-30:58 1. NAD (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) 2. HTB Rejuvenate (Himalayan Tartary Buckwheat) 3. A Phyto Polyphenol blend BTW I actually love the long podcasts. I love hearing the science and how everything connects so I don't mind the length. Very informative!

No references, no citations, no mention of what "studies," and he is not a researcher. If he does not cite his claims, there is no way to verify anything here. - cite your sources!! He NEVER mentions what "studies" once and acknowledged that he is not a researcher and did not participate in any study.

That was said at a time in history when there were no manufactured medicines to purchase. Back then, all people used were herbs, and they put them in their food, made teas with them, chewed on them (like willow bark), or cooked and stirred them into pastes and rubbed them on their skin. They weren’t saying not to use prescription drugs such as antibiotics, for example, because those didn’t exist then.

In addition to what I've heard here, so far, there's another aspect to nutrients. As an analogy, if you take all the materials to build a house and dump them on a lot, they don't make a house. They don't design and assemble themselves into a house. Someone has to do it. I believe that nutrients are the same way. We need them to be available in our bodies for health, but we also need to be able to utilize them. Health is something we do. This involves the four primary aspects of being human; physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual. That is lived out by such things as exercise, diet, stress resistance and reduction (meditation), sleep, clean air and water, healthy relationships with oneself and others, internal peace, a healthy self image, etc. We have the ability to actively become who we want to be. We will become who and what our choices make us and our attitudes and awareness influence our choices.

Actually if it is strictly carnivore, there will be a future where you will pay for this. One year will not tell the tale Yes, it lost you weight. Nice. Very important! But I am seriously wondering what would be the problem with putting with it a salad with olive oil and some apple cider vinegar as a dressing........? Lets not be so obsessive here...... Dont know, but maybe I dont quite understand what "strictly carnivore" means.......

Electrolytes especially potassium & magnesium deficiency eventually will manifest. They’re hard to detect via blood tests as they kept homeostatic in the serum for the sake of pH. Carnivore MD has changed his stance and now he eats fruits, honey and some rice. But carnivore is initially great to reset metabolic health / immune system. But we didn’t evolve to be only meat eaters over the long term

I’m so sick of being sick from Lupus, Chronic pancreatitis that’s now turned into EPI, dealing with back and neck bulging disks from getting hit by a car as a pedestrian when I was 18, fell down a flight of 16 stairs in the dark and rolled my felt ,y neck hitting the side of about 5 stairs and landed on my back looking towards the stairs. My son heard me and ran to pick me up and I said no, don’t move me. I was seeing stars and thought I’d broken my neck. After awhile I felt I could get up and we left my cousins the next day to head to San Jose to see our oldest son, DIL and grandkids. My neck and back, plus Lupus complications always hurt and I’m on 2 opiates and scheduled for epidurals on my neck and back. Plus, I’m having heart issues, gastritis, biliary stenosis (think from a badly damaged gallbladder that wasn’t diagnosed soon enough. I had it removed years ago. I’m trying everything to get healthy, but so exhausted, getting over RSV and have severe sleep apnea. I’m praying I’ll be able to sleep now without waking up all panicky and heart racing. Just got my cpap machine 5 days ago. Still having 9 episodes an hr, but it was 34 so happy about that. Trying to reduce the breakthru pain med and take Tylenol instead. I love your videos and learning so much. We have the worst dr. reputation in Bakersfield, CA. My dad was killed by a dr doing a routine EGD when he ruptured his esophagus by forcing to stretch it. And my son had 9 PE tubes as a kid, took him to the House Ear Clinic and he needed titanium stapes in both ears, a 4 part surgery after months between each. I take him to USC for nerve blocks from post thoracotomy pain from lung surgery and up here, the drs wouldn’t do it for fear of recollapsing his lung. Drs. at USC said no problem it goes in the spine, not even close to his lung. He’s had 3 blocks in the past 15 yrs. Glad we’re only 2 hrs drive from LA. Thank you for all your videos. I’m tired of all the meds and hope I can get my Primary to watch your videos, he love to research so will be sharing this and other videos. 🙏🏼👍🏼

Frequent Tylenol is not good for your liver. Medical doctors are not allowed to recommend alternative medicine according to their insurance policies- something that has a strangle hold on American doctors and slows down use of the latest health discoveries-unless you can afford to pay for treatments with cash because health insurance plans will not pay. Get in touch with your care management team and try to get them to OK special treatments for you. Good luck 👍

At some point in our search for what's good for you, EVERYTHING is bad for you. Just when you finally learn what's REALLY best for your diet, the next "expert" explains why it's the worst thing you can eat. And it takes over an hour to tell us what 3 daily supplements we need are. Well of course it does, because a another youtuber needs another video topic with a "MUST SEE" title. Just look to your right. and see all the videos on what you need to avoid. And if you can possibly enjoy eating it, it must be bad for you.

Life longevity is connected to the length of a cell component known as Telemere. Every time a cell replicates, the telemere gets shorter, which causes the aging process. I mention this because nothing prevents aging and doing the right things doesn't really lengthen your life but rather prevents you from dying sooner than you should. The other thing I notice is that people who don't take care of themselves often look and feel older than they need to. I've seen 50 year olds act as if they are 80 and 80 year olds act as if they are 50 simply by what the eat and drink and how much exercise they get. Even in youth, you can see a difference between a couch potato and an athlete. The primary difference between a young couch potato and an old couch potato is the old couch potato is actually impaired and really feels the effect of a sedentary lifestyle.

There are foods that lengthen telomeres. Vitamin C and vitamin E lengthen telomeres. There are lifestyle changes that can be made to lengthen telomeres. It’s more complex than you are implying.
@scottguitar8168
@scottguitar8168 15 күн бұрын
@@suzanneemerson2625 There could be complexity in terms of knowing eating healthy and exercise would make you look and feel better and actually eating healthy and exercising. If you read carefully, intakes of vitamins C and E are associated with longer telomeres, which doesn't mean it makes telomeres longer, it means that those vitamins slow down the shortening of telomeres, thus they are longer than those who don't take C and E. Lobsters have an enzyme called telomerase that rejuvenates their DNA thus they are biologically immortal and cannot die from old age.

I love this video, so thank you. ❤ However, I disagree with you on the Drs at The Cleveland Clinic recommending supplements. I worked there for a very long time in administration. There are guidelines where they cannot recommend. Maybe because you are a dr. asking, there was a different response. Yes, they do Vitamin D recommendations and OB, but for the regular...no. I worked with my DO, who was great, and I became prediabetic. They kept putting me on medicine which I would stop because it made me sick. They told me that I could not stop this medication. Never did they talk to me about diet. I began juicing - Beets, Carrots, apples.....and my DO yelled at me because of too much sugar. I told him I felt better....so he monitored me and I reversed my prediabetes. Same with Back issues after a car accident and having a long issues. They began steroids....I asked if this would heal the issue....no but it would block your pain. I began to take Sulfur (MSM) and it fixed the issue......was not in pain...that with the chiropractic care.....I healed. In fact all the meds they put me on just made things worse.

I like Dr Hyman’s promoting of one getting all the nutrients we need , because it offsets all of the negative people who say “you don’t need all those supplements, and if you eat the right foods. You’lll get all the nutrients.that you need”! and it is discouraging! But they don’t take into consideration that the solid are depleted and the processed foods have all the nutrients taken out! I know people who tell older people this and the die younger than they probably would have!!! I have found that my health is good because of supplements and I’m 79. We need books and videos like these and ones like Dr Sinclair makes to wake people up. Keep up the good work!!!!

I am not a scientist clearly. But I have always been confused about the efficacy of mice studies with their body weight and systems being so minuscule compared to humans. Yet the dosage of testing is astronomically disproportionate to their size. I would love for a scientist to explain how that correlates to the human body and systems. It's not even close enough to be apples and oranges in my opinion it's more like a pebble and a boulder.

What are processed meats? and what are meats that are not processed? Buying pork chops and ribeye is not processed right? My friend told me that it is and that they use glue? Idk. Also is hamburger meat at the grocery store processed? Not the one in the tube but the regular packaging ground chuck.

Probably the most important thing is... Sleep. Without that as your main foundation, no amount of pills, potions or lotions will be any good. The use of a CGM even if used for a short while is thee best way to get a look inside your body as to how your insulin is spiked. Highly recommend. Even if you only use it for 14 days... Great insight. MRI for visceral fat imaging should be considered over DEXA. Thank you for uploading and sharing.

Totally agree! You can take tons of supplements but if you aren't sleep, eating and moving well, there probably isn't that much of a benefit. They should teach people how to get good quality sleep.

I have been taking NMN and resveratrol for 1 month. The one thing that I have noticed strongly is that I’m getting hot flashes again. I’m 61. I also think that I’m feeling less inflammation and it is something I would notice because I have a lot of problems with my skeletal structure. So, I am following the science along with fasting about 20 hours three days a week and 16 to 18 most other days of the week.. I also practice calorie restriction and have done that for a long time so my fingers are crossed and I will stay tune to the science. I just read David Sinclair’s book but I’ve watched all of his podcasts and videos

I also have worked out (not overdone) in some respect since 1977- Do not quit moving. I absolutely do indulge here & there... Everything in moderation. We Like what Dr. H is stating in MANY of his talks, not just this one. There are "tests" you can google to check the vitamin/supplement you buy to see the amount of time it takes to be absorbed into your body.

I believe these deficiencies exist and are very serious, however, it’s almost impossible to find supplements today without synthetic fillers, preservatives or fungal inhibitors, some of which can do more harm than not taking supplements. You can’t find a magnesium product that for example doesn’t contain magnesium stearate, a synthetic soap and lubricant. It has been suggested that this ingredient can interfere with immune T-cell function. Additionally, microcrystalline cellulose, obtained from wood pulp, used as a filler and to prevent stickiness is commonly used. Reported side affects include gas and bloating. depression, forgetfulness, lack of energy, and headaches. Yet these products are all lauded as natural, organic and safe. Pyridoxine hydrochloride, synthetic B6 comes from petroleum ester, hydrochloric acid, and formaldehyde. Read your labels.

I’m commenting now a year after this is published but I appreciate the attention given to genetics affecting production of enzymes. I have 2 sets of variants that have really affected my life. Now I figured out what I needed before finding out my genetics but it was just a “lightbulb” moment to see why I needed certain extra nutrients and why I had to avoid msg and aspartame while others weren’t affected negatively. One set is my GAD genetics which affect the enzyme that converts glutamate to gaba. The other is in my FAD genetics and that requires extra b2 for me.
