I started watching you sept 23rd to be exact. Just got diagnosed with type 2.. and I was 212 lbs. i stop eating at 8:30pm and i do not eat until 11-12pm next day. I do drink one cup of mushroom coffee in the morning and walk about 4,000 steps. When i break my fast i follow what youve said.. i’ll do an avacado and a protein like a piece of turkey bacon and drink lots of water and wait 1 hour. then i do the rainbow (veggies, a fruit, nuts)… now ive gotten used to only really eating 2x a day… im at 203 now! I feel great, light, healthy and energetic! I also sleep very well! My blood sugars have been normal!!! My doctor is giving me 3 months rather than giving me meds right away. Diet, exercise and fasting. Im hoping i wont have to take meds! Thank you for everything! (Im 50 and already in menopause) 😊 i walk around 10k to 13k steps a day.. drink also 4 liters of water too daily.

Dr. Mindy, you have missed an incredible ingredient and a way to consume phytoestrogen! When you mentioned sesame seeds you said these can be sprinkled on salads, but you said nothing about tahini, the sesame seed paste, which can be used to make tahini salad dressing, tahini sauces for everything from meats to fish to vegetables (cauliflower is amazing with tahini-lemon-garlic dressing). Tahini can also be mixed with honey to make a super delicious sweet sauce for ice cream or dates or other deserts. Tahini also happens to be an ingredient in hummus! Ladies, read labels or make your own hummus by mixing and grinding together cooked chick peas, tahini, olive oil, water, salt, pepper and lemon juice to taste. You can also add roasted garlic for fancier versions!
@Carmel99333Ай бұрын
I started making hommus lately Do you know a tahini dressing thats really nice?
@anyaroz8619Ай бұрын
@@Carmel99333 It's basically tahini paste and lemon with any of your favorite spices and herbs mixed in. I normally add water to thin it out. But you can definitely play with it a bit and try vinegars in place or in addition to lemon, or you can try other citrus like orange and lime. you can add mustard to it too and see if you like it. I tried to add a bit of roasted sesame oil into the dressing once and liked it too. Garlic is a good "friend" to tahini, so try pressing a half a clove of garlic into your dressing, etc. I make my own dressings, so I don't know if any brands to recommend. Sorry.

I'm sure she knows lots of things that can also be added, so since tahini is sesame seeds, go for it! I also love to use tahini with so many recipes.

@@kathyauriemma3548 I'm sorry! Whole Food Plant Based - though Forks Over Knives says minimal meat can be consumed, I'm fully off animal products of all kinds. I eat plants and minimally processed foods like brown rice, brown pasta, nutritional yeast, tofu, etc. I've been vegetarian and vegan off an on for 40 years, but those diets include crud like oreos, cake, cookies, white tortillas, corn chips, processed food, sugar, all oils, you name it! Dr Mindy you have said in other videos not to eat when it is dark but I have been eating OMAD for 4 months and always when it turns dark and last bite of food is before I go to bed because I like to eat while I am watching TV and I kept losing weight until I became very underweight and weak so I stopped eating OMAD. I am 72 years old and 4 feet 11 inches tall and before the OMAD weighed 85 pounds and after OMAD I got down to 73 pounds so I got scared and Stopped OMAD. My meal consisted of a 3 to 4 pound salad of 2 kinds of leafy greens and 1 cup each of 7 different non- starchy crucificues vegetables and about 3 to 5 pieces of whole fruits and a couple times a week I eat beans. I did not eat any ultra processed foods or bad oils or refined sugar. I think the reason I lost so much weight is because the foods are healthy foods because if I would have eaten ultra processed foods I would have become overweight because I gain weight very easy.

Hi there, try it and see what works for your body. Since we are bio-individuals, what works for me may not work for you. Dr. Mindy teaches n=1 science. N-of-1 is "individual" science. N-of-1 means YOU are the focus of treatment and the data about you helps guide decisions (eat protein before or after workouts). This is small data that benefits YOU. Try breaking your fast with bone broth, then try it with avocado and see how your body responds. Happy Experimenting! 💙Dr. Mindy's Team
