For volleyball players should we train acceleration rather than max speed due to limited space and time on the court? Isaiah mentioned that the penultimate stride shortens when you have less speed going into it so that makes me think we need better speed in a short amount of time and space on court

I started trying the knee drive cue a couple months ago and the feeling that it comes closest to is like pushing off a scooter really fast lol I get the same tapping sensation you guys mentioned in this video too since you don't have a lot of time to push when the scooter is going fast
@yeesenchaiАй бұрын
When they mentioned straight legged it, are they saying they observed someone with fully locked knees extending the foot or is it also wrong to reach far with the foot in the penultimate? If just using knee drive, wouldn’t the penultimate step be way shorter?

Hey Austin, love them Jordans your wearin'. I also see Isaiah wearing the same Dawgs. You guys have the same shoe size? That's dope. So question, does that have an impact in how high you jump? The size of your feet? For better traction? Better balance? Just wondering. An too bad this is blurry, twas a good podcast. It's also great that you panned the camera out where we can see everything while your discussing what you do. Easier to understand and follow.

I think away you know you need to get better eccentricity is when your knees give out when you go for a full approach I had this issue. And I worked on my tendon stiffness and the the pain from loading goes away.

Yo Isaiah , i wanted to ask you a tip. I recently got into the gym and for now I'm doing: Leg Press, Leg Curl, Calf Raises Machine, Bulgarian Squats with Dumbbells, Dumbbells Step Ups and lastly Leg extension. With the leg extension i feel a lot of pain in the right knee when I'm up and I'm going down, should I still do it? Even when I'm doing isometrics i feel a pain going from a 5/10 to a 9/10 pain rarely, but should I keep doing em?

help! can someone explain to me why my pogo jump is the same height as my standing vertical. its mid its just 18 inch, for pogo okay but weird for vertical in comparison, i keep seeing people do insane vertical jumps but then see them do pogos and its much less height, don't know why my vertical isnt any higher. im only starting a proper fitness routine and i dont have a history in playing basketball or none of that, im pretty short and lightweight. however id say im naturally somewhat strong and fast for my size but it doesn't translate well into my plyometrics, thanks if anyone can answer whats occurring here
@mgir014 ай бұрын
Might mean you're not strong or powerful and purely elastic. Or possibly ur pogos are not as fast as they're supposed to be with less contact time. Play around with how you do your standing vert (low, mid, or high crouch before exploding), and see if when ur vert is best. Make sure your pogos are fast. It could also happen that your vert will become higher than your once you get some proper training in.
