About the Tomestones, I may be wrong in the video about the exchange of Comedy to the next lower tier, because I forgot that expansions usually add two new tomestones instead of one. I think part of the confusion was also to the changes on when the raid tier is released, meaning the cappable tomestone release is delayed. Either way, you'll get a good exchange rate into poetics at the very least, which will let you buy in-demand tomestone materials instead, meaning you should still try to cap these to make gil. Regarding materia there are many people in the comments confused about why there would be any need for materia VII. Yes, you can meld materia IX into any slot that VII would go into, and it would provide higher stats. However, materia VII might be enough to hit certain breakpoints that crafters and gatherers are looking for. In those cases, the person melding won't care if the materia is VII or IX, they will go for the cheaper one. Therefore there will be a demand for VII materia.

Just cap them all for poetics to use them for any tomestone pieces at 90 you might be missing. Or upgrading them, depending if you did get the last tomestone sets upgraded (since either hunting or doing all 3 alliance raids for coins/whichever token it was this time around). Plus now is the time to farm up some glam pieces if you got specific look already planned (like my Viper will be Alexander Anderson from Hellsing Ultimate, cause reasons, already running as NIN version of said glam XD)

If they do it like in the previous expansions (which is very likely) then Comedy can exchanged 1:2 into Poetics and Casuality 1:4 into Poetics.

I plan on capping all currencies possible. At worst, I get a little extra Gil, but patches are a rare chance to go (functionally) over cap on tomes when converting. My pentameld gear always had a few lower materia to hit right where I wanted, so your advice is spot-on!

Just dropping in to mention Aetheryte Tickets can also be purchased with Centurio Seals, specifically at the Clan Centurio vendor in the Forgotten Knight in Ishgard. Good video, I'd just like to add a few comments. Sidequests: I'd definitely include some beast tribe quests here, the level 80/90 ones provide a big chunk of xp. You can also save up to 16 levequests (2 per DoH job) which have a seperate counter to the standard quests. Tomestones: Will likely undergo a full reset and be largely useless to hoard for dawntrail purposes but still will give you lots of poetics for old relics if you don't need to spend them on any diadochos crafting mats, or hildebrand relics+ilvl 650 credendum gear to polish up your lv 90 sets. Khloe book: Important to note that Early Access comes out on a Friday 28th June, so you can actually can use 2 books in a row if you save the Khloe journal you pick up on June 18th if you have preordered the expansion. Trusts: As others have pointed out, this won't be needed in order to do solo duties in Dawntrail. Grand Company Seals: I don't think there is a good chance that new materials get added to this other than a new grade of dark matter for fully levelled crafters to self-repair. Nuts: Maybe will get replaced with a new hunt currency, maybe not. Crafting Materials for crafters: Early recipes Lv 91+92 for all DoH jobs will probably use some of Integral Lumber, Chondritic Ingot, Star Quartz, Ophiotauroskin Leather, AR-Caean Cloth. Eblan Alumen will also probably be used to synthesize the first 1 or 2 tiers of leather. The Alkahests have also used the same plant reagents for two expansions in a row, so it might be worth stockpiling Kudzu Roots, Light Gerbera, Sweet Alyssum, Tiger Lily, Fernleaf Lavender, and Lime Basil. Crafting collectible turn-ins: The current 71-80 collectables will probably give no experience on turn-in for any DoH character at level 90. Crafter/Gatherer Scrips: will have their tiers reset - obviously gatherers will want ethers+versatile lures ready, it may also be worthwhile grabbing some crafter delineations now if you don't have any. Adventurer Squadron: These will be useful, especially spiritbonding and experience manuals for both PvE jobs and crafter/gatherers. Co-ordinate with your Free Company leader about what level 3 buffs they are going to be running for the first few days because the FC buffs and these squadron buffs don't stack. Spiritbonding: In addition to the squadron buff, yes have superior spiritbond potions ready. If you don't need a job-specific buff you can also buy better crowned pies which are +spiritbond food from Talan in Mor Dhona. There is old +spiritbonding gear/accessory pieces from ARR but those pieces are so weak and you lose an actual slot you can spiritbond from, meaning that none of them are worth using to spiritbond with. I would recommend spiritbonding as the main gil maker for newbies, because it's entirely passive to whatever content you will be doing in Dawntrail. I'd also mention levelling up the Chocobo while doing FATEs. A bit pay-2-win but the SDS Fenrir cash shop mount uniquely has maximum land-speed unlocked as a default and will let you zoom around the new zones faster than everyone else until you have got all of an area's aether currents.

You don't need to level trusts to use them to level anymore. You can use "Duty Support" which is the same thing but puts the trusts at the correct level already (They just won't get exp but you still do).
@chrisironland70507 ай бұрын
Trusts also has the "scenario mode" that will put them on correct lvl, incase you really want scions as your party (aka if you want certain ancients to join you in ktiseos, you can with that!) Only thing scenario limits is who you can choose for it, but since system was made with any main in mind, that will be zero consequence.

So anything you can craft now, if you turn it in during DT it will just give you Purple Scrips and reduced XP (1k). IMO you're better off not bothering with stocking up on collectables, just do your weekly custom deliveries and don't spend the scrips for a couple weeks leading up to DT. There will also be an exchange to turn old White scrips into Purple scips (not at a good rate). I would also suggest you make sure you have unlocked/completed all existing CDs so you can get the bonuses from all of them going into DT, if you haven't already (and the consumes/materia stuff he mentioned ofc).

@@TSChingChing Bozja FATEs do not increase in EXP past level 80, meaning you are stuck with the same 360k EXP you get, while each level starting with 81 takes an additional few million. The 81 to 89 dungeons will give you between 1.7 to 2.7 million XP for a run, scaling up with level. Assuming you can complete a trust dungeon in a very generous 25 minutes, at level 81 you need to complete a FATE every 4 minutes to keep up with trusts, including the time flying there. This goes down to about 3 minutes later on. Considering you are stuck with a bunch of players new to their jobs, and that the average player will very likely not be making great use of their Lost Actions, if they even have them, I don't see the advantage of leveling in Zadnor. Bozja will be much faster for leveling dps than trust or dungeons. At level 80 the skirmishes and critical engagements start giving more xp to scale with the higher level. I leveled many jobs to 90 with Bozja in a very short amount of time. Getting to 90 in a day won't be hard with a mid of the things you mentioned but also then going to Bozja. I would start with Bozja then near level 90 leave and turn in side quest, turn in the wondrous tails, do Trial, normal raid, frontline, leveling, msq. Leveling frontline, and msq should give about a level and a half on their combined. Wondrous tails another half a level, side quest turn ins was somewhere around a quarter to half a level. So all in all I'd leave Bozja around level 86-87. If you still don't have enough xp after turning and doing those roulettes just hop back in to Bozja. Also important to remember we have a new Deep Dungeon that can help with leveling too. Deep dungeons normally give about a dungeons worth of xp but take a little less time and you can queue with any other role. So you don't need to have a group of tanks or healers. It can be all dps. One more method will be Tribal quest from Endwalker, The Arkasodara tribe in Thavnair is for combat jobs it will give around 1/3-1/2 a level in only a few minutes of work. These quest are designed specifically to level level 80 and up jobs to 90 and are made to take a very short amount of time.

Bear in mind that you can use Materia 9 anywhere you'd need Materia 7. 9 for crafters and gatherers is especially easy to acquire thanks to Island Sanctuary.
@Jolsn7 ай бұрын
In theory yes, if there was an infinite supply of materia 9. In practice, materia 7 will probably be enough to hit at least certain breakpoints that you are trying to hit with your melds, meaning the person melding won't care whether those few points come from materia 7 or 9. Therefore, there will be a demand for materia 7 even while materia 9 gives more stats.

@chrisironland70507 ай бұрын
I thought Bozja was efficient for 70 to 80 only, cause lvl cap?
@extrathicc787 ай бұрын
@@chrisironland7050 No, bozja is the most effective way to get to 90. The XP gained from skirmishes and critical engagements still apply even to jobs above level 80. Around level 87 it evens out with dungeons if you have a premade party that can clear a dungeon in about 15 minutes / roulettes, so if you're burned out by then, thats a good time to hop out of bozja. Many people were able to get all combat jobs to 90 in the first couple weeks of Endwalker release by running bozja. If you run thru all the zones and 'tag' the skirmishes available by going in and doing enough to get a gold contribution, you'll get 350k XP per skirmish, with skirmishes resolving very quickly, you can amass millions of XP per hour.

I think if you preach a relaxed playstyle, you should let people experience the game the way they want to. And if that includes prepping some currencies or having gear sets ready for an expansion launch, isn't that their own journey that you described? I've been around for many new launches, and the excitement of preparing and trying to make more of the worthless ingame currency is always one of the most fun parts of it. I'm not trying to min-max because I feel the need to, I'm doing it because it's fun. Aside from that, any and all prep done in the video doesn't stop you from enjoying Dawntrail at a slower pace either.

Since poetics are so easy to cap, if you want to bank gear for GC Expert Delivery turn ins it's worth it to buy up rings in Eulmore. Rings are not unique items so you can buy as many as you want. And when it comes to crystals, those MIN/BTN gathering ventures in the 26-30 range will get you 120 crystals every 40 minutes if your retainers are level 90 with decent gear. A little bit of discipline over the next few months will net you thousands of crystals.

will materia IX be useless for pentamelds come Dawntrail?
@Jolsn7 ай бұрын
Materia IX will likely be used as a budget option for pentamelding very early on, but should drop down in value afterwards significantly. If you're planning to get rid of Materia IX right now, hold onto it to sell or transmute in Dawntrail, but don't acquire new ones right now.

Is there much reason to use trust over duty support? It has the hassle of levelling them, and a quick google said that the XP gain is the same, though they can be 1 level higher in trust (ie they are level synced rather than matching the dungeon level exactly). Still, seems like a lot of extra work if you don't want the achievements!

@telezon72067 ай бұрын
Hello! You're not behind. There's not a race to the end in FFXIV like there is in other games. The journey takes quite a while to get to the end, and there is no need to rush it. These are all just normal parts of an expansion cycle, and SE implements tons of catch-up mechanics a few weeks and months after a big patch releases for people who make it in late. My advice would be not to worry about anything in this video. And just enjoy the game and story as you play it. And don't worry about the endgame raiding scene until you get there vecause that can all be done at that time. Tldr: FFXIV is very much about the journey. So don't be concerned that's there's soon to be more in front of you. That's a good thing! It's very much not like other MMOs. Enjoy!

Question about the shards, how much do you get from ventures if your retainer is geared? Not at the point to find out myself yet.
@Jolsn7 ай бұрын
I highly recommend you send your retainers out to gather anything but crystals and shards, because they don't bring back enough for it to be worthwhile. Think of it like this, if you send them out to gather some in-demand material instead that you can sell for a combined 15k for each venture run, you can then buy the same amount of crystals you would have gotten and then some. You're not losing money sending them for crystals, but there's an opportunity cost

If others and I want to make gil by selling things we prepared beforehand, that's every bit as valid as going in completely unprepared. Making gil and understanding the games systems is part of the fun to me. If anything, by having all that stuff out of the way, I now feel that I can take things at a slower pace when the expansion actually comes out, because I have lots of farming already done. Aside from that, nothing about this is speedrunning, it's basically just capping out some resources that you can get through regular gameplay and a few things you can farm for an evening before launch.

Why would I bother with Trusts when Duty Support is right there? They're functionally the same and there's no XP difference between them. The only difference is that Trusts allow you to pick characters that aren't usually in that dungeon, but thats it. They don't even have item level gains over Duty Support or anything like that. Duty Support is functionally superior because you don't have an arbitrary leveling system. You're going to spend more time leveling the trust than you are going to be leveling your job in Duty Support
