Όταν έγραψε το «Blowing in the wind», ο Μπομπ Ντύλαν ήταν μόνο 21 ετών. Ο Peter Yarrow/Peter και ο Noel Stookey/Paul.

Mankind has grown more violent, bitter, mean, rude, hateful, jealous, disrespectful, arrogant, two face, narcissistic, selfish, greedy, sinful, on and on and on. The answer is all these wars, conflicts, hardships, etc., experienced everywhere were no accident. The "invisible government" were pulling the strings during all those time up until now. If more people opened their hearts to Him there would be less senseless death and no more wars. This song changed my life. I’ve known the words my whole life..sometime around the Iraq War they finally hit me. I ended up weeping, knowing my relentlessly “whatever my country does is intrinsically moral” was wicked and wrong. Thank God for PPM.

This song was popular when I was a teenager and soon to be a soldier in Uncle Sam's quest to save those dirty communist in SE Asia. I was a lucky soldier but so many were not. I want to dedicate this to my older brother. who did three tours in Viet Nam and came back alive. However, we only saw him once after that and never knew what happened to him. Also, to the young cousin I grew up with, who was killed by our own artillery and my good friend who lost his leg from friendly fire, and one of my classmates who came back in a body bag, I dedicate this to you guys. Also, my brother in-law, who leaped from many a chopper in the First Air Cav, I hope this song means something to you. To all my brothers who fell and to those who were wounded, let us ask: when will they ever learn? What was it all about? Was it just so that the mighty US could go do billions of dollars of business with the communist as we do today? Was it all about making cheap shirts and other clothing available to us? I wish someone could tell me because it seems this country sold out a generation of kids very cheaply.

I was in college at the University of Kansas when PPM played a concert there. Afterwards, Peter came out, those of us who stayed sat in a circle with him, he talked with us for a while and then started to sign autographs. When he wrote on my paper, he said he got to kiss all the girls and he kissed my cheek. I was about 20, and I was over the moon!

There was nothing happy about my home life as a teenager. I came home from school and went to my bedroom. There a picked up my guitar and played until supper time. After supper I returned to my room and played until bedtime. I saw John Denver on a local Denver station. He was in the Denver West High School gymnasium siting on a stool and playing for a group of kids. From there I saw him in concert at Red Rocks in Golden, CO. I was mesmerized and for the first time I found solace in my life. John Denver kept me off the streets and out of trouble. Thanks John. RIP.
