Using a Paper Shredder to Shred Aluminum Cans and Melting Them Into Ingots

In today's video I'm seeing if I can use a paper shredder to shred pop (soda for you southerners) cans and melting them in my Devil Forge. Mrs. Rays World says they have to go, so let's melt them!

I know what im buying at goodwill tomorrow! Maybe cut them in half first with a paper cutter first?To cool, just another reason to fire the kiln! Thanks for the video! Wow you got some cool toys!

Cutting the top and bottom off the can before shredding really helped or you’ll need to find one that is more powerful. Like a 40-80 page shredder.

Great job Ray! But... Get some tongs before you have accident or wreck you crucible. Safety first! Maybe you can find a shredder that can handle 50 sheets. Keep the videos coming!

I'd bet they Shred easier UNCrushed! Maybe Tin Snips the lids off and just do the bodies frrst - I think the lids would be the toughest

your problem ie you need at least a 12 sheet shredder!!!
