Using a Shorter Belt to Bypass A/C on 5.7L Hemi

2012 Hemi in Charger/Challenger/300 uses a 6 rib serpentine belt that is 82.5” long. If the a/c compressor fails, it can be bypassed with a shorter serpentine belt.
My calculations said 5-5.5” shorter should work. I tried one that was 76.44” and barely got it on.
It works, but a belt in the 77-77.6” range would have worked as well while being easier to install.

Thats a good idea. I have a Found On Road Dead Ranger that i dont care to fix the ac compressor nor buy one in.

WHAT?!? You have a Ford?!? What happened?? You were always so level-headed and intelligent in your life decisions. It’s hard for me to imagine the tragic situation that befell you and led you to believe owning a Ford would be a good idea… It’s never too late to turn things around you know. @@codyrabenaldt727 well the best advice I can offer for a ford owner, beyond get rid of it, is to try to work smarter not harder when trying to fix it. For example, before I pushed my aunt’s Taurus into the lake, I was going insane trying to repair its ignition, but the parts wouldn’t fit or work if they did happen to fit, and I was losing my mind going crazy trying do this simple fix.
