Glad i remembered this, dynamic strokes add jitter on hue, saturation and luminance and it was exactly what i needed to paint skin and have subtle variation on the base color.

This is great, would be awesome if the stroke was actually dynamic and updatable. Like a curve on top of the model that could be edited.

Awesome update! Can't wait to try this one out. Totally gonna use this with scanned assets like twigs, leaves and so on, seems super powerful. Kinda feel like this would fit perfectly for alchemist too ;) I do realize tho it's not a copy pasta feature :P

Hm, this might be usable for creating brushes like the textured brushes we've had in Photoshop but haven't been able to recreate in Painter. Like having a texture as base and a separate alpha that uses the texture as a stencil, but not locking to screen-space projection. Looking forward to trying it out!

Agreed that poly fill tool is pretty useless, I gave up trying to use it, I just use I’d maps or just paint the mask manually

woah does the mean dynamic stroke brushes can be created inside of Substance Designer? (exported as SBSAR files?) If so, thats very cool! I hope we get a tutorial on how to make your own brush in the future :)

It's definitely coming. It's taking a lot of work as it impacts many aspects of Painter. While we work on this, we are still releasing updates in the meantime.. Don't worry, UDIM is very high focus for the team. It's just taking a lot of time and we want to make sure it releases in a perfect state.

Is it possible to control start, mid and end alphas being used? So at 1st stamp use Alpha1, mid stamps Alpha2 and end stamp Alpha3? I'd like to create something similar to Illustrator's pattern brushes.

Yes! You can do this Substance Designer to make a fully custom stroke. You can also use the Brush Editor to work with size, opacity, rotation as a dynamic stroke.

Yes, this feature is complicated to setup manually using Substance Designer, but it provides advanced users with a lot of power to create any kind of stroke they want. We also updated the Brush Editor as shown in the video so you can make a dynamic stroke directly in Painter

Sure are making a lot of stuff nobody asked for. Can we please get the ability to selectively hide meshes or composite texture sets??? Game art pipelines are hindered by the inability to work on multiple meshes in the same world space

We are working on lots of stuff. Hiding meshes and painting across UDIM sets is apart of what we are working on. These are major features that take time to implement fully. In the meantime, we are able to also release other features.

you can use an opacity channel and use masking with poligon/mesh selection to get this effect. Just make a group for each separate piece you need and hide them with opacity, whenever you need the thing back hide the layer with the opacity channel on. This might be a bit clunky but it has wroked for me many times.
