I was tagged by a musician who I don’t follow or don’t follow me . But I was tagged on a post with multiple others on there music .. how were they able to do that ?? I would love to do it for my page
@IndieMusicAcademy6 жыл бұрын
When posting a photo, the field below where you type your caption is where you tag people. It is literally titled "Tag People." The crazy part is that Instagram currently lets you tag around 30 people on each photo and you don't even need to follow them. PRO TIP: You can drag the location of multiple tags on top of another so your post doesn't look too spammy. Try it out!

IMO, I wouldn't do number 3 or 4. Connecting with the right people I believe and getting your music heard by the right people will reel fans in. This doesn't necessarily work for everyone, but it's working for me.

Dion Isaiah Good to hear. Yes, every artist will need to tailor their approach to their specific goals and marketing style.

But the question is, what kind of posts should people upload? People might get annoyed if someone keeps posting music that their followers don’t like
@IndieMusicAcademy6 жыл бұрын
There is no single answer to your question. The market is the market. If people don't like what you post then the market (your audience) will respond. It's your job as an entrepreneur to learn your market and tailor your strategies.

Just a heads up from what I heard from Damian Keyes, and a few other people say.....a follower is not a fan, there’s a difference between the people that actually follow you and a fan base, the fan base will love the music no matter what

Just started my music channel a few weeks ago! Have a business page on FB but I’ll switch my IG to professional next. A little nervous & overwhelmed by all the information I’ve seen binge watching advice videos about promoting music on KZbin & social media. Any advice for someone just starting out with promoting their music online? I’ve been doing music for over 20 years now but I’ve been a little camera shy until recently!🎥🥁👩🏻🎤💯

My advice is to join the Lion Bold Music Entrepreneurs Facebook Group! You can ask questions, meet other artists and connect with me one on one. Here's the link: facebook.com/groups/1637588139650916

Great advice👍 I've got a question.... How can I start a record label😃
@IndieMusicAcademy6 жыл бұрын
Great question! I should definitely go more in-depth on this in a future video, but basically, you need to do these things to get started: 1) Register as a business at the local/county level 2) Open a business bank account (this is impossible without step 1) 3) Get your Recording Agreement written out for your signed artists to "sign." Once you have signed artists, make some music and fill out splits sheets for every song and keep them on file. Here's a download link: bit.ly/splits-sheet 4) Line-up a music distributor and sign-up for the record label account/features 5) Get a website set up and promote get new fans!

Lion Bold Thanks for the info and the free download link🙏.... I guess I was misguided by the content I recieved from other channels.I'll get to work as soon as possible and I hope we'll get to work together someday. Cheers🙏

You're welcome! Just curious, what were the other sources saying on the topic?
@ProjectFinalAudio6 жыл бұрын
Lion Bold They talked about being registered and having a website and that's it. None of them mentioned anything about split sheets, distributors/marketers.I assumed that the label would need to have a relatively large following on all social media platforms in order to successfully distribute the artist's music. With the little info I had I first sought to building a following which hasn't been going too well.The only thing I managed to do successfully was to print record label contract samples. I even posted some of my tracks using my brand hoping for positive feedback but things are progressing in a rather slow manner.
