Those Gabion baskets are a great idea! Again, using materials from your property...repurposing vs buying. So smart! And they will look so good! The scenery as you travel to retrieve water is gorgeous! Those skies are to die for. Nice to see Sierra getting out and about. Slow and steady is good. Thanks for taking us along! Teresa (& Mark)

Brian, have you ever watched bushcraft videos on youtube? If not , you can get a lot of great ideas on utilizing natural materials found on your land there. They build the coolest stuff some of them...the bushcrafters....I'm glad to see you making progress. I live in PA but have been following your channel for a while now and cheer your progress on....good to see....

Yeah, they are draining off the states ground water. Instead of harnessing rain water. Arizona has a water issue. Why y’all keep moving here?
@juniperwildflowers8 ай бұрын
@@oakmaiden2133Community wells draw from local aquifers which fill from rain and snow melt. The state relies on the Colorado River which is where the issue lies, not rural areas like this.

Tip. Remove the bark and use a blow torch on the tree to cure the wood and save from rot. Lots of info on youtube on this and log cabin wood.
@OffGridBackcountryAdventures Жыл бұрын
Hello, yeah I didn't feel the extra work was necessary due to the fact juniper is very rot resistant and this structure will only be up 10 years max. I'll eventually build my FS lookout tower replica in this spot so in 10 years these logs will still be extremely solid. It's crazy how there are still old cowboy fence posts from the 1800s around here which weren't fire treated, they would just stick them in the ground and let the bark eventually fall off. It's amazing how well this wood performs with minimal effort to cure it. Hope you have a great Memorial Day afternoon, thank you for tuning in! ~ Brian
