Acura is probably going to molest the Integra with inferior technology such as Hybrid or Turbos. If Acura only would go back to their heritage then they will succeed. Look at the BRZ and GR86 great example of success or even the MX5 true to heritage. The New NSX completely molested compared to the 1st generation so I highly doubt Acura will get this right. Acura don’t have a single magic bullet vehicle in the line up, all of them are pure rebadge of a Honda with just fancy name. At least, Lexus got it right with their top tier name compared to Toyota since many Lexus still offer true rear wheel drive vehicle but less now in Canada but in the United States you can get more RWD versions

Man, I'm just glad their are some of us out here that can visualize what the community is saying about some of this. I'm convinced these car manufactures have some of the most talent designer around, but they bury their creativity and suck their souls dry with corporate interests and selling to the biggest market potential. I think they showed the two door integras of yore because that’s what we all remember when you say “Acura integra” the 4 doors never sold well when they were in production. In fact they sold so terribly in the dc2 generation that the bodystyle was axed for the dc5 generation.

I just don’t understand why most new cars I’ve seen have dual exhaust running through a hole in the bumper or why the type r civic has 3 tips in the center. Keeping somethings like the exhaust asymmetrical only being one pipe on one side give the car a better look especially when people start getting after market parts and you can see the piping from the back. It gives it that metal machine look to something that otherwise looks like a streamlined product. I hope you guys know what I’m trying to say lol

news flash...the nsx is the only two door model that they will make...the TLX is the main powerful sedan base model costing at almost 40,000 and the type S at 52,000. This one being an entry level at 30,000. There will be no more two door cars unless its the nsx. dont get your hopes up

I don't see the coupe coming back for the Civic, but it certainly is a strong possibility the new Integra will be offered in a 2 door, and possibly a DCT transmission, since the ILX A-Spec had it with the N/A 2.4L former Si engine.

Hopefully the DCT is what they go with... I am glad they debut it with the manual, but they haven't mentioned anything about the auto which makes me think it might end up with a CVT and that's why they won't talk about it... I hope I'm wrong.

@@ThePhotoshopGarage CVTs are in the majority of compsct cars for 2 main reasons. Fuel economy snd they are chesper snd easier to make. Acura is Honda's performance and luxury upscal devision. The ILX A-Spec has the previous N/A 2.4L Si engine with the DCT, so the Integra will most likely offer that, and the manual.

Yes, I believe the Integra was originally a 4-door when it was first introduced, so in that respect Acura did go back to it's root (kind of), but in this reveal they used the 2-door which was the more popular option as the marketing and it just doesn't add up.

Ain't it weird how the 9th gen Civic Si coupe had HDMI exhaust, but Honda scrapped it and used it on the 10th gen Civic? I think Honda wants to go a certain direction and want us to sculpt and modify simple cars, but they listened to non-car enthusiasts and not actual Car Enthusiasts which explains all the body lines and curves. We want cars from the 90s and Honda gets the wrong message of us thinking simplistic design is bland and boring (hence the quick 9th gen Civic redesign). I believe Honda is slowly adding and taking away stuff to see how we will react. They know what they're doing with a 4door Integra. Probably using this to see how we'd react and see where the market is at which is why they discontinued the Civic coupe to have more money for other projects. The Civic they want to be 4door cause the hatch sold well in the UK and hopefully want the Integra to be a 'coupe'. Maybe they could do what Hyundai and Infiniti couldnt with their luxury coupes?

Its like some people only talk about the 10th gen nowadays and forget about the past few gen design language. Tbh, if the 9th gen front looked like the hatch back in the UK i dont think the Civic would look the way it does today and the Integra wouldnt look like this. The 8th gen Civic and 9th gen Civic look so much alike and i believe Honda finally realized what a Civic is supposed to look like. If you look at the Acura TL and Honda CRV you will see that they have always looked the same. Another example is the 6th and 9th gen Honda Accord. The 9th gen Accord is a modern version of the 6th gen Accord. I also believe Honda should have kept making each car in their fleet standout from one another instead of all looking alike. Honda tried making 21st century car designs since 90s and 80s cars had their self identity and barely changed. Toyota is a good example of doing that today with the Corolla, Camry and Sienna.

What I believe, in my honest opinion (not that it matters much in today's world) why design a family 5 door clearly made to target the crossover/ lift back trend, and then turn around and market it towards enthusiasts by "claiming" it was derived and inspired by its historically iconic predecessor. It's a FWD 4 door Genesis sedan. I understand the "blank-canvas" mentality that made all of these cars from the 90s so iconic, because you could do so much with them, and I do honestly think you could do some amazing things with this platform and make it look great. The thing that gets me is that, what they did for this presentation, felt like if Nissan introduced a new Gen GTR, but it was just a face-lifted Juke, and they just kept pushing "homage to the enthusiasts, we're pulling inspiration from the brand's roots." Everyone's heads would be sideways in confusion.
