Its great to see a young man that works on those motors. Btw check your gray fuel line as ethanol fuel will destroy the interlining you may want to switch to black line check out kodibass he's good Chris from OHIO

Appreciate the comment. And yes your correct on the fuel line but this fuel line is mercury’s primer set up and is the good stuff. A lot of the other colored gray hoses is what you have to watch out for. Believe it’s the red and black lettering if I’m not mistaken that’ll make the lining collapse

Hi bro I have 2.6 meter fiberglass dinghy what size outboard you reckon to put on it my first boat thanks from rich

So all boats should have a yellow tag on it that tells you your hp motor max and overall weight the boat can handle. If you somehow don’t have that my guess for a boat roughly 8 ft ima guess your max is probs a smaller motor. Maybe a 6 hp may be your max. Without me seeing the boat myself your boat may be able to handle a 9.9 but it really varies

@@outboardfinatic I’m getting more and more into messing with small outboards. I’ve grew up on boats and currently have two myself. Been messing around with my 87 mercury 25. Very hard to get a good idle out of it! Runs great idles okay but just not as smooth as some other small outboards I’ve had

@@devinmiller2329 have ya gone through carbs? Low speed jet could be clogged hence your issue at lower rpm’s. Also have you checked compression at all? You can also adjust the idle screw which I think if I remember correctly is on the left side where the throttle lever is. Should be a screw on there. Tighten that in a little and it’ll advance the sped of the engine
