You're welcome. Do you use the belt as a training tool, and if so, what exercises?

@@GKCgoju Mainly just for this: Getting good feel of Tandem and the lower abdomen- and back-region in general -> by pressing muscles against it from inside, imaging belly, back and waist as sort of dynamical sphere - especially when doing breathing exercises, Sanchin and Tensho of course. Also watching (by feel) position and movement of the knot, moving down and up again during working all the technics. For me its a powerfull helping tool for imagine tandem and being aware of this all the time. (I noticed also: if i have no belt and do Karate exercises, i feel little weak 😂for real it needs much more concentration for doing good breathing, tension and release of muscles and all this stuff.) Sidenote: Maybe its some type of main reason behind japanese belts and its technics of artfull knots in general, i wonder some times. As a "Pointer" to this important region and sphere called Hara and especially tandem. If you know something about this, please share with me, if you like. Thanks for your work!

Seems to be a common denominator in weight training as well. The wide, thick belt is often thought to be an aide to prevent back injury. Many lifters I've studied have said if you are BRACING properly, the belt merely provides proper feedback and this is what actually prevents the injury during exercise.

Dear Paul. Thank you. Very useful ideas. Very interesting the obi function.I would add the importance of the shoulder/back position. If too much to the chest the back does not join and very difficult to make the spine straight. Thank you!!!

Санчин - это не Санчин если не выполняется с голым торсом.
