Being a CCA is one of the worst positions. You don’t have health insurance. You don’t get the benefit unless you’re a career full-time or a PTF. Some offices don’t have PTF positions. In my office, you’re either a regular or a CCA. It’s very overwhelming when they keep sending you the different routes in your city and when you don’t have a consistent route and also they send you to other cities as well. I was getting overwhelmed with getting different routes all the time and kept being sent to other cities. It accumulated a lot of stress for me and I resigned after a year. Not to mention the pay is not good $19.33 an hour to work like crazy and wear and tear on your body and no health insurance. They take advantage of your work ethics.
@LawrenceSimms Жыл бұрын
You do get health insurance… you got 60 days I think after you get hired to sign up.. I had it the whole time as a CCA. Far as doing different routes everyday I definitely understand that however thats how you get real good learning most of the routes but yes it can be stressful. Far as pay totally agree starting pay should be at least $23-25 an hour

Yeah your not going to get that time off at the Post Office 🤣 however youll make more because of the OT and have good benefits in the long run.. but thats the thing it takes a while
@jnuem2 жыл бұрын
If you are in a big city u can forget time. If you are in a small town you might not get enough hours. And the post office is all over the place unstable when you are a cca. You need to have a clear schedule 0 plans the 1st 90 days. It can be rough if you are not use tonphydicle work out in the elements. At least at amazon you have stability and can plan things. 10hr days = 8hrs OT. Every week not out in the elements. I'd love that 3 day weekends. Depending on where you are, you might get 1 day a week off if you are in a big city. In a small city you might work 1 day a week at your home office and have to travel up to 50 miles to find work at another office. You are not guaranteed any hours. At amazon you work 4 10's anything after 8 by law is OT

Hey Lawrence, great videos man. What's your honest opinion of when you were a CCA ? Just in general. I don't mind working outdoors and I have orientation in 2 weeks, but after seeing all these horror stories I'm second guessing things. It really doesn't look that bad if you don't take it too seriously. When I say that I mean of course I'd take it seriously, but if I got lost and I have no idea where to go, I don't think it's a good idea to start to hyperventilate or anything. Like you said, "it'll get done". Overall though, it seems like a decent job. You don't have to run from house to house do you ? You're able to walk normal speed, no ? Congrats on becoming regular and I hope you have a good future with them. Thanks for the videos.
@LawrenceSimms7 ай бұрын
Hmmm well I can definitely say its good experience.. yes it sucks cause your at the very bottom so that means youll be doing practically all the city routes and whatever else they need you to do for business needs.. but its good experience because itll help you be more efficient and make you have creative thinking on how you need to get the work done in a timely manner, however no you dont need to “run” but you also want to have a little pep in the step lol. Walking with the mail isnt for everyone so even if you find yourself not liking the City Carrier position you can do Rural Carrier which is no walking all curbside pretty much..Some offices though are all mounted no walking for City Carrier. One thing to consider too is as City Carrier you turn over way quicker and get the benefits sooner.. actually I hear they could be eliminating CCA and starting as PTF’s/Regulars which is real good.

USPS is definitely worth it since your contracted and not a “Fedex employee” so benefits wise definitely USPS hands down.. in terms of harder job both are strenuous work but definitely City Carrier is tougher.. your walking miles a day in all types of weather.. but again both are strenuous and Fedex tends to have heavier packages up to like 200lbs.. I remember having to go the third floor to drop off a couch 🤣.. Ground is ok but USPS, Fedex Express or UPS for long term. With USPS your a Federal employee

Answer: It depends So the path to career involves 1 of 2 things. 1. A regular retires or quits. Then the open route goes up for a bid amongst the other regulars already working there. Then what's left goes to the CCA. The cca becomes regular. 2. After 2 years of working a cca gets automatically promoted to a Part Time Flex and that's a career spot but not regular.
