@@susansmith1636Don’t act like all USPS employee’s steal or throw away mail, because they don’t. FedEx, UPS also has workers that steal. The PO retention rate is below 50% because of the long hours and low pay. Nobody wants beat up their body delivering mail for minimum wage.

Thank Dejoy and all of his management buddies for this issue. His 10 year plan has destroyed us. Expect massive mail delays soon, once we get out of peak season he's allowed to continue his massive shift in plants and excessing of employees. USPS has a very dull future with Dejoy.

The problem is with psychotic Supervisors and Postmasters driving away the new help with low pay, juvenile attitudes, abuse and overwork. So now you have a lack of new people which means vacant routes that dont get delivered because older Mail carriers dont want to work 100 hours a week. Go after management, raise the pay (considerably) above our 1.3% measly offer that our spineless NALC who sides with management got us. If we could strike we would be striking right now.

On Nov 13th my wife mailed a package for the grand kids that she had worked on for over a month (to get everything in that she felt they would enjoy). We have a tracking number and every time we put it on the USPS website we get a message that says "The label is printed but not in the system" and then it says we have to wait until the package is given to USPS???? What??? We mailed it at a USPS office. My wife is 77 and handicapped (so we cannot travel to see the grand kids) and she is heart broken that they did not get the package. This morning I called their customer service number...WHAT A JOKE... I only got a robot that gave me all kinds of info I did not need and eventually told me to put my tracking number in the phone...guess what?...I got the same message that I did online. YOU CANNOT TALK TO A PERSON.....I would highly recommend you do not use USPS.... we will use UPS from now on.

Of course delivery times are within standards. They set the standards. Most recently, a couple of years ago, they extended the delivery window for mail and more recently they changed the parcel categories and set new standards. Highest management is centralizing processing centers claiming efficiency increases but in reality they’re just extending transportation and processing times.

I moved here from Ohio in 2020. In Ohio we got mail service. Here, I’ve gotten attitude, excuses, and even the workers at the counter suggest I mail important things from a different office due to inefficiency. I paid $60 extra to get baby chicks delivered. They were expected around noon. They arrived after the post office closed and were just left outside in the truck overnight when it was 60 degrees. (Chicks need 80-90 degrees). Pretty much the response from postal workers was a shrug. Packages are thrown down by the side of the road near the mailbox for anyone motivated enough to stop their car can pick it up. The mailbox is NEVER closed…. My mail gets drenched when it rains. Response from post office again… shrug. I actually think we could do without them.

Look at the Canadian postal service as an example of privatization. They're on strike right now. Good luck with your privatization. Look at postal rates from other countries and you'll see that the USPS is still the cheapest in the world for first class.
