MCG is more detailed! Much better than Interqual in my opinion

Thanks for the video. As a UM nurse I prefer using MCG over InterQual. MCG is more detailed.

I have used both in behavioral health UM. InterQual is very rigid so I’ll end up sending more cases for peer reviews than when I have used MCG.

If UM uses MCG but say Medicaid uses Interqual and based on MCG doc admits to INPT and Medicaid denies claim as not meeting INPT status due to them using Interqual, how do you appeal such a decision?

I haven’t used Interqual, but MCG seems pretty detailed! I was wondering if you have any tips on charting them? I feel like I am over charting and having to do so many reviews everyday, I wanna be able to use my time wisely! Hopefully the question makes sense! Thank you ❤
