Yet, it fails on the performance with its false KA and customer service side because Mike is too much of a clown to grow a pair and get rid of that person who everyone mentions in the review. Regardless they only made it this far because of the arrow patent. 😂

The new BSM update 1035 for K band may have a bad side effect. I was rounding a corner yesterday and the V1 G2 did not detect a K-Band transmission from a cruiser until I was in direct line-of-sight. I suspect the multipath portion of the 1035 upgraded with respect to the K-band was suppressed too much and therefore no alert was given when in "Big-L" mode. I have now set my V1 G2 to "Little L" mode.

My V1 was in "little L" mode and I switched it to "Big L" mode. Much more silent now due to it not reporting falsies. Thanks for the video and the guidance. FYI... I put the suction-cup mount away and made myself a magnetic mount to the windshield because suction-cup mount tends to let the detector wobble and bounce.

My V1 Gen2 has been worthless since I upgraded to a Cadillac Lyriq 2023 EV. V1 Gen2 picks up every sensor in the car regarding false alerts. Also after a recent software update JBv1 on my phone often loses the bluetooth connection with the V1 Gen2. I am now seriously thinking about switching to a Escort Radar

Still trying to decide if I am going to upgrade my V1G1 to the G2 or just get a Uniden R8. I really keep my phone in my sight so running with an app is not really an option. The phone just sits in the wireless charging tray. I still like the slimness and look of the V1 as i plan to use a blendmount to put it under the rearview mirror. I know of the customer service person and she can be very rude which is another reason I am not so sure. I suppose I could also look at the Escourt Redline 360C as well but I would never use their CarPlay app. I wish one of these companies would partner with Google and/or Apple to get teh alerts overlaid on the existing maps they have. I admit with the others I do like the GPS functionality. The big thing is do I want to pay less than $400 to upgrade or do I want to pay the money for the other brands. Decisions, decisions.

for what its worth, I share a car with my wife, she hates having a phone out when she drives and would rather just leave her phone in the charging tray. I'm the opposite and would rather have the extra info I can get from my phone screen. What we ended up doing was using and older phone of ours (a backup we kept) that runs the app to control the V1G2...when shes driving, she just keeps the phone in the glovebox and basically ignores it, the app does all the muting etc while hidden away. When I drive, I put it on a phone holder I have along the a-pillar. Long story short, you could use the G2 with an app and keep your phone on the wireless charging tray. You miss out on the display features, but still get all the other great features available. I'm not nearly as familiar with the Uniden R8, just a long time V1 user, i'm sure you'll be happy with whatever decision you make!

At this moment in time, for Ka band on Highway, which radar detector has the best range? V1G2? Uniden? Escort? I'm not conerned about city/town performance and can deal with some BSM alerts, as long as they are not constant. Highway Ka detection range is all I care about. I have ValOne-GenOne and a Blend Mount under the rear view mirror. Power source is conveniently from the maplight on the bottom of the rear view mirror, so only a very short wire. Will the ValOne-GenTWO fit into the same Blend Mount? This drives my upgrade decision. Also, during my commute between home and work, there are about 12 of those YOUR SPEED IS signs, 6 in each direction. Constant nuisance alarms. Sometimes I see a police car in the vicinity of one of these speed signs. What can the ValOne-GenTWO do in terms of filtering out the speed signs yet allowing the actual police radar to be detected?

@@bishopgeorge1333 depends on when it was shipped. If you get it right from Valentine it will. You run an app like JBV1 with it, it is pretty hard to beat as far as detectors go. I run one with JBV1 and a 6 head TMG A-17. It's pretty solid

I wouldn’t buy one. I’ve tested RVM dashcams and I don’t like covering or replacing my factory RVM’s. The size of the radar antenna horn also wouldn’t play well in that form factor.

@@VortexRadar I used the Broadway mirrors. I like my mirrors big so you can see everything behind you including your blind spot. I want functional use snap form factor. Way better than having multiple electronic devices by your windshield and obstructing your view and your dashboard and the police can visually see that you have a radar which is illegal in some state states.

Compared to what, lol? I run with an R7 and R8 and the V1G2 is just as viable as those two detectors.

Anything with built in gps for auto filtering . Anything with OLED display. Anything with WiFi capability and OTA UPDATES. Anything that detects multiradar cameras. Anything that doesn’t brick in Phoenix heat like mine did.
