Really liking the sound of that motor over a lumpy lsx.

This sound fits the car better than thr lsx

I own the E60 M5 and I’m impressed you are able to manage/control that engine with that aftermarket computer. 😂 I love mine but this is what it should have been in the entire time!

In the future I hope to do one with an Audi V10.

Those screens over the ITB velocity stacks are actually pretty restrictive it'll need a proper airbox in my opinion.
@JamesLStapleton7 жыл бұрын
That's very nice sounding engine. I'd take one.
@EcuChris7 жыл бұрын
How was tuning those ITB's? I hear they can be a challenge to dial in just right. Very cool build! I one day want to build a car from the ground up and the sl-c looks like a fun and challenging journey!

I know Superlite offers a "Turnkey-Minus" program where they build the entire car for you besides the transaxle & whatever engine you decide to put in it. What kind of third-parties do you recommend would be good for installing the engine & transaxle. Also, do you know of any SL-Cs that have been fitted with an Audi engine?
@jamesaron19672 жыл бұрын
Good questions. An Audi V10 would be very nice.
@macman61073 жыл бұрын
If I could I would definitely do this with the V10 BMW or Audi/Lamborghini. Purely for the sound.

How much effort/work required and what exactly had to be changed to accommodate that s85 engine ? You say you changed the frame and firewall ? How much extra does that add to a build ? How does it mount compared to an LS engine? I.e higher or lower ? Does it have the cats on the exhaust still ?

does anyone know if superlite is planning to update the slc? like cosmetically. i personally love the cars but it seems most co panies do a update or refresh every 5 to 10 years and the slc is starting to get older.

Considering ITB’s (LOVE EM) any drawbacks, restrictions, or lessons related to the ITB’s in the SL-C. Do they affect the clear cover over the engine over time? Any hindsight you can share is deeply appreciated
@zakari30302 жыл бұрын
On this engine they did fit under the rear window. ITB's have the usual draw backs. Tuning is harder and they have to be balanced correctly. Once those get dialed in they are great.

A better motor and sound, now it's a Mclaren grade. SL-C at its best. i wonder if you can do a 4 rotary engine SL-C. its gonna a be bad ass poyect.

Oooooo......Love it! Was this motor harder to fit than the Coyote?
@zakari30307 жыл бұрын
Yes, it is much bigger and required changes to the frame, roll cage and rear firewall. It was worth it though
@cdnbluesdriver7 жыл бұрын
I and a bunch of other probably agree that it was worth it- thanks for sharing!
@chrismanning11715 жыл бұрын
Only thing I don't like about it is you will most likely have to remove the engine to work on the front of the engine. So before it goes in I will do the water pump, belts, and timing belt.
@cupcakesansfrontier9 ай бұрын
Hopefully you installed a removable rear cabin wall so he can do this. A lot of rear engine kit/tribute car builders do this if they plan things out properly.

@@zakari3030 hi Zakari, thanks for the input. I'd look into Delta standalone ECU, they are requiring exchange engine harness, would you be able to share where you managed to acquire yours? Do you have someone to recommend to have the engine and ECU setup? Again, thank you.

I'm planning to build one of these in a year (don't let the profile pic fool you), and i plan to have you build it... i was wondering if I purchase a aventador v12 engine would it fit
@zakari30307 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately the aventador V12 would not fit, that engine is monstrous. Viper engine won't fit either, maybe in the GT-R.
@DeiHarper93617 жыл бұрын
zakari3030 Would any V12 fit? From a BMW or Mercedes?
@zakari30307 жыл бұрын
The V10 from the BMW was a tight fit and needed some frame changes so a bigger engine would require even more modifications. It's the engine height that makes an engine impossible to fit.
@DeiHarper93617 жыл бұрын
zakari3030 Oh okay, I don't mean to ask crazy questions. I know a lot about cars and at the same time, I don't know shit about them haha. Do you think you'll ever do a Moab build?
@zakari30307 жыл бұрын
I am hoping to, and I'd also like to build another GT-R, but I have been overwhelmed with SL-C builds.
