You showed the bag in the Miele, but not the Kirby. Makes me suspect the Kirby didn't have a bag in it at all. The Kirbys have HEPA bags that do the same thing as the filters the Dyson and Miele have.

There is no comparison, Kirby is a superior vacuum in every respect, especially the new Avalir. This "test" is ridiculous. There's not a Dyson or Miele that exists on the same level of quality as a Kirby

A Kirby will kill a toddler if it falls on one. The Miele is put in a drum and tumbled around to see if it can withstand falling down stairs. A Kirby will destroy itself with its own weight. Have fun pushing around a tank that sucks at doing its job

Brady Karas you are wrong. Even with cloth hepa bags Kirby’s still push dust out. Not to mention the carbon dust that is belched out of the base of the motor housing. They clean great but they are far from dust free. The Miele is a sealed system the exhaust from the motor goes trough the hepa trapping the dust that goes past the bag as well as motor carbon.

Chilly Davis I found the Miele as a replacement for those who found Kirby a heavy vacuum. (The Canister not the upright) And I found the Dyson as the best vacuum on the market even though that it's a money waster.(All of them)

Not only did it probably not have a cloth or paper bag inside it probably had a dirty outer filter that was never washed.

I completely agree i love kirby its one of the best brands available,there is no way in hell that a miele is better than a kirby and much less a dyson. comparing a dyson to a kirby is an insult to me and all kirby lovers!

Having owned a Miele Jazz upright for 12 years I have the following observations: Bad 1. The plastic handle on the back ripped out from carrying up and down the stairs. Had to epoxy it back together 2. The flexible pipe for the hand tool easily traps debris, so constantly cleaning out the pipe. 3. Just changed the drive belt after 12 years and the quality doesn't look as good as the original. 4. Hepa exhaust filter and bags are expensive. Good 1. Very powerful because it uses two motors. One to drive the brush and the other for suction. I have another vacuum - Hoover Boss Max 12 amp and the Miele will easily out suck it. 2. You can pretty much lay it flat to go under couches and beds easier. 3. Very long power cord 4. Maneuverability - it will glide around anything due to the swivel head and the caster wheels. 5. A light which actually helps to see stuff. 6. Works well owning dogs. This vacuum has been great, but it is staring to show its age, and I get annoyed cleaning blockages. The old Hoover by comparison uses clear pipes, so you can see where the blockage is located. Would I buy another one? Probably not. I am not a fan of the Dyson, because you have to dump the vacuum contents into a bin to empty it thus spreading dust everywhere again. I do like the fact that bags hold in the dust. I like the Kirby because there are very few plastic parts to break and the design is blockage free for the most part.

Kerby has a vent on the side that bypasses the filter so I'm sure the air quality would be much worse if it was tested properly.

The kibry has a larger surface area to dispel air from, so unlike the smaller surface vent of the miele and dyson, it's not going to disel as much, so the air isn't going to be displaced as much.

this seams really high on the kirby my question has that outer bag been cleaned at all or is it genuine kirby hepa filter bags 0.3 microns filter bags should not be putting that many particles in the air!!! some thing is wrong with this test!!!!

Miele is typical German quality. I prefer my Miele over the Dyson we used to own hands down. Miele is all about function. Dyson is all about trendy designer looks and marketing. And I speak as a Brit. Dyson is a British company.
