Great video. Although you did not comment about it missing a second brush, even though it clearly had room for it. I found one of those in the trash recently and I'm cleaning it out as I speak. I tested it once and it seems to work although it needs to be programmed. People around here are wasteful. Sometime ago, I found a Roomba 690 in the trash that had never been used and was still in the box! I gave it to a neighbor because it was unprogramable.

For smart navigation vacuums, IMO sacrificing battery life for a larger bin makes a lot of sense. My Roborock S5 is definitely more bin than battery limited.
@niccolobelli52615 жыл бұрын
I think it really depends on the house: how many carpets you have, if you have pets, etc. My mother has LOTS of carpets plus a small dog and it happened that after 120 minutes the bin of the S5 was full. On my house, which doesn't have carpets nor animals, I can run my S6 up to 840 minutes before needing to empty the bin. That's more than a week of usage.
@atomstarfireproductions86955 жыл бұрын
Just wondering, how do you make the navigation video and make the path display white?
@maximthemagnificent5 жыл бұрын
I don't know how specifically they do it, but if I were tasked with doing so, I'd take the difference between each frame and then color it white (keeping previously shaded areas white as I went, of course). The way you see lightly shaded areas of white at the edges of travel sometimes (presumably from the rotating side brush) makes me believe that's what is being done.
@voidofspaceandtime46845 жыл бұрын
looks like they use some sort of baking between frames that uses the tape as it's frame reference.

The cons were missing in this review, so will post them: 1. Hair filtering in the cleaning rolls does happen. A lot. 2. The brush is placed right next to one of the connectors for the battery, hence you will constantly have to clean it, for it to be able to connect the charging dock. 3. The dock, doesn’t always connect to the robot. 4. If it is out of battery or the dirty box is full, it will kindly remind you at 3:00 AM and every 20 min onwards until fixed. 5. The brush is tightened with a screw into a piece of plastique. It will break. Just a question of time. 6. It is not great with corners. 7. It is extremely noisy

What is the hardware difference between the 960 and i7/9 regarding the imprint mapping? It appears that the 960 uses the same number of sensors, a camera and is also capable to send info concerning the cleaned areas which is displayed as a map. Why isn't it capable of remembering the map? What resources does iAdapt 3.0 require and the 960 doesn't have? Would it be possible install iAdapt3.0 with a future firmware update? thanks.

A while back I found a Roomba 690, brand new and unopened, in the trash. But because it could not be programmed to clean only where you want to clean, I gave it to a neighbor. My guess is that grandma had received it as a gift some years ago, never used it, died, and her kids threw it out because it was obsolete. Nevertheless, it was needlessly wasteful IMO. And just lately I found a Roomba 960 in the trash that was used. I tested it once and it seemed to work although it needs to be programmed. Right now as I speak I'm cleaning it out.
