People do it, thats ok. Doesn't really bother me. In fact it helps... Thumbs up or down help show that there is interaction with the video's, and youtube promotes them more. So even thumbs down give me more views! HAHA Thanks Ron! Your awesome! :)

Yep! Always! Its ok, I like the rain. Wasnt stoked about the tiny hail, kinda hurt. But rain itself isn't too bad.

If that blue pad is hard on the back check Amazon I picked up a twin sized air mattress for $12 and the same brand was almost $30 at Walmart. Too heavy for backpacking but great for car camping.

This is my back yard and is very interesting to watch a video of the trails and spots I fish regularly. Nov 15th Salmon snagging begins. This is a great time to fill your freezer full of fresh salmon. Gearing up, getting the smoker ready for lots of smoked salmon, to can and freeze. Old video but still interesting thanx!

Hey glad you liked it. Yeah for sure, good luck snagging this year.

@dalehorton5157 Many years ago. I tend to fish more in the Backcountry than easily accessible fishing holes. Wild trout are more fun to catch just b/c of the difficulty to get to hard to reach places, which means many spots may have never had been fished by anglers in that fishes life time. It's wild

Great vid McFly. Looking forward to part 2. How did you like the mummy bag? Seems like a good price for it. A review of it would be great if you've got the time.
@McFlyAngler7 жыл бұрын
I will try to do a review of it. Honestly I'm more a fish person than a camp/hike person. Although I do go a lot. But people are used to me reviewing fishing gear, not camping gear. However maybe I should give the camping reviews a try.

Love your stuff Shawn! Two of your “adventures” I’ve watched had one thing in common - no tripod for your camera. As a retired pilot I would suggest a simple solution for prepping for your trips; in a word “checklist.” Been there, done that, got the “T-shirt” myself (a lot!), and it’s no fun driving or hiking in and finding you’re missing what you need to enjoy the outing. :)

Bro, I forget what to put on the checklist! Haha! Things will get better when the kids get older and it’s less hectic in the house. Lol

Another enjoyable video. Several comments, loved seeing the Marmot, last year at this time we saw 2 while doing a backpacking trip to scout for hunting and doing some fishing a ways east of you. I have seen many over the years but if you want to see some really big ones, go to Alaska. I was going to tease you a bit about the distances up there. On that same trip last year we were wanting to get up at least 7 miles and if time allowed about 11 miles. The lesson I learned was don't be the guy that shows up with a little bit of room left in his pack. I was about 80 pounds when we left. And then the other guys kept asking me if I was OK, I wanted to say, no I am not OK I am carrying all of your crap, LOL. We had a great time but I was slow going. The trail signs said it was only 2 more miles to where we wanted to stop for a little fishing and then planned to go on up to the next set of meadows for the night. Well we got started slow and then by the time making it the 2 miles, we had gone 4 by the gps and map, and I was tired. We slept there, and of course also had hail and torrential rain. Next day made it a couple of miles by the gps, which is what the trail signs had said was the distance to the next meadow and found a sign that said 2 more miles to the next meadow again. I am not sure who decides what to call the distances up there, LOL. Any way we slept that night at 9600 feet. It was beautiful country too, next time I am not taking as much gear or I am taking horses. Saw lots of good fish, lost two and landed none. But it was a great trip. When you get ready to fish some good quality water and not have to hike quite so much drop me a line and I can get you in a few places. I can let you walk in from the long way around though to if you want to feel like you earned it , but you don't have to.
@McFlyAngler7 жыл бұрын
+docdevin1 yeah, I've always wanted to go to Alaska but never had the chance. I was lucky enough this trip not to hike with lots of weight, but I've done it with weight before at other hikes and it sure isn't easy. I'm not in the best shape ever, but what I don't have in strength I make up for in determination. Haha. So where do you live? I'd love to go fish with you.

How do you sleep on that sleeping pad.. I have one and tried it a few times and wake up feeling like I was ran over by a truck.
@McFlyAngler7 жыл бұрын
Yep! I am not made of money, so I gotta get the cheap stuff. Its not the most comfy, but sometimes I even go without one at all. It hurts in the morning, and at night when I sleep on it. However it is what it is. Those really nice blow up ones are like $60.

Good video Angler. What do they say? Fishing isn't just about hooking fish......but hooking fish is preferable. Sometimes ya just gotta persevere. There's a creek in the Sierras I hike a couple miles to and only about 30' is fishable. That's OK, fishing is fishing.

Honestly man...it's about a 1.5-mile hike to where you can start fishing and you didn't even make it there before the rain. 11 miles is a huge stretch.
@McFlyAngler7 жыл бұрын
uh..... Not how the river was raging. I could have fished right at the park if the water wasnt raging. I was told it was an 11 mile hike to the top. It took me 2 hours... I am not like super fit or anything, but I know 2 hours is roughly around that amount of time. (2nd day). This day I went, I said I stopped short didn't I?
@explodedlad7 жыл бұрын
The first bridge that crosses Vallecito Creek (not the bridge that crosses Fall Creek that you fished), is only about 2 miles from the trailhead. If you didn't cross that bridge, you didn't even make it up 2 miles. On your video from yesterday where you fished the creek...it does not look like you made it to the bridge (unless you didn't film the bridge). Unless you made it past the first bridge that crosses Vallecito Creek and on to the second bridge, 11 miles again is a huge stretch.
