I *still* need to play both of these mods, thank for the reminder Rem :D

That's actually pretty true if these mods were standalone games they would get more recognition, im just tired of trying to reach someone from the open fortress discord server only to play with one two people, the only way to play these now is to play with bots, i know it sounds kinda lame, but that's just the only way. Have you noticed that the people on KZbin playing open fortress have 31 people in a server? How do they do that?

Why are we even talking about this ? It's been two years since that whole thing with TF2C. As far as i remember, It's still up and running and Valve left it alone, now.

I have played both games and theyre so much fun. Maybe not TF2C because of some of their weapons but I support the OF to death

Portal was never a mod though, it was an entirely different game
@Remyie Жыл бұрын
True, it was a different game which later Valve hired the students who made the first Portal "Narbacular Drop". Still kinda relevant to what I was trying to say

My only fear is if the bot creator adds bots to both games

I mean if valve dosnt care about tf2 anymore why should they care for mods of tf2
@Remyie Жыл бұрын
Not caring is not the same as removing mods. Knowing that Valve games have really good modding support, it was weird for them to take down some of them. Also Valve still releases cases for TF2, so they should care about it.

This is just my opinion but it seems to be a simple thing going on here: Valve is busy with Counter-Strike 2... and rightly so: they want to get the Source 2 graphics engine out as quickly as possible to the market and the general public. . He doesn't have too much time to get into the legal stuff of a graphics engine from almost 20 years ago like Source, with some mods that simply recreate something that already exists and that, in fact, doesn't really harm them, but rather helps them, since they give recognition to the original game Team Fortress 2 and what it is possible to do, and from which those mods are linked (again to repeat and remember that they use Source). And although it could have real legal consequences, it is not something so serious and important now that Valve wants to solve, for now, despite the logic that says that it must now be held responsible. I think that will change when Source 2 comes out and begins to establish itself in the market and the public, as its predecessor did.

It might be because they are "busy". If they were so busy they wouldn't take them down in the first place. These games were completely free. Also cheat software using leaked source engine code to absolutely bypass every anti cheat measures, Valve does nothing; really cool mods and games made with leaked source engine, OH SHIT TAKE THEM DOWN NOW. Kinda dumb really.

You know, back when HLA was set to release I made the same excuse "Oh valve doesnt update tf2 because they set all their resources into HLA" and now 3 years later I can see I was just wrong. I mean it's no secret at this point that Valve's developer philosophy is "Work in this project only if you want" and while this is extremely liberating for their developers it's also extremelly flawed cuz it means they can drop support for any project even if it desperately needs so without any consequence at all

I just played tf2c for the first time with tf2c this Friday.😅

Instead of having a mod page, they could really become game modes instead
@skeletonmemelord7779 Жыл бұрын
i have played them both actually. they are pretty damn fun, which makes it all the more infuriating that Valve just straight up ghosted the teams behind TF2C and OF.
@Eckhoehandle Жыл бұрын
OF does actually have players you just have to refresh alot or check it later until someone joins

For me there's a max of 9 players, sometimes 10 online. And I have to wait until like 10 - 11 at night for people to actually start rolling in lmao
