On my 3rd VRP and I couldnt be happier, its alot cleaner and runs better. On a 250k 2001 Silverado/ This truck has had twice ayear oil changes/mostly hiway miles/Penzioil-only/never been flushed/doesnt burn-leak oil. After 1st 1,500mile change, I did cut open filter found 1/32 inch of sludge in filter paper with a tiny pepping of metal and coffee ground bites of built-up dirt.stuff. Did a 2k change found no sludge or metal-etc stuff but filter was alittle dirty. This 3rd one Im going for 4,000mile mark for a change. Also did it on a 2015 HondaCRV 134k miles, cleaned it up as well, not burning oil like it was Qt 4k miles. I just did its 2nd treatment.Good Luck

The oil fill is only getting the oil mist/vapor during operation. The PCV system is likely also getting the same effect. Just imagine where the varnish is getting the full oil cleaning. I noticed smoother running engines and disappearing varnish. Interestingly, the oil isn't turning black like other oils did. My son's Hemi lifter tick vanished. So the stuff appears to be the real deal.
@MidwestF150Күн бұрын
@@usocrazy6133 you’re absolutely right on mist/vapor. I missed the mark when I didn’t take pictures of the PCV valve or send a camera inside the engine thru the oil fill port. 😩 Where are you observing the varnish and how are you able to get access to it? 🧐

The "Indirect" Cleaning (Carbon, Sludge, Varnish,etc.) ability of VRP has been hinted at by Valvoline Spokesperson(s) in previous Interviews... While it is correct to say VRP is meant to clean "directly" where the Oil is able to freely flow in/out/around/on/off... So that means the Piston, Rings, and Supply/Return passages get much of the the TLC while the "Vapor" zones will take far longer to clean, but hopefully they will get Cleaner and Stay Cleaner with continued usage...

@@lgoamity love the conversation here. I might have to find a trustworthy borescope to capture footage from within the engine. I’m just super scared about something off the camera potentially falling into the engine lol .. it would be game over if that happened

When you change the oil look at the color. My dad’s Yaris running R&P looked like Diesel Motor when I changed it. The cam also looks clean like
@MidwestF150Күн бұрын
Thanks for the tip! I’ll be sure to check the color of my oil next time I do a change. I’m trying to figure out how to best capture it to show what it truly looks like in video. The lighting always throws everything off
@lgoamityКүн бұрын
@@MidwestF150I know the feeling, when I took video of my Oil Filter Housing/Filters I really should have planned out the Lighting better (for the camera)... VRP really should look relatively clean/"golden" for a shorter run (2000 vs 3K/4K/5K miles). I think you mentioned previously that your Oil Filter isn't the easiest to get to/change... Otherwise I'd recommend something like I'm doing swapping the Oil Filter about half way, taking Oil Samples, Topping Off and seeing what the Analysis says and comparing again before the next full change. See how Good, Bad, or Ugly things get for Interval 1.5, before a Fresh Start on Interval #2
@MidwestF150Күн бұрын
@@lgoamity yeah the filter is mounted in a way where the oil will gush out if I remove the filter. I might just have to invest in a borescope lol

I put in an all-metal oil filter/cooler housing on a 2012 Chrysler 300 with the infamous leak. I changed the oil with VRaP. 2 weeks later, the OE oil pressure sensor was leaking oil, then stopped working, and then the dual stage oil pump solenoid also stopped working. Neighbor's car who claimed he did regular oil changes prior. Checked the oil and it was black as pitch, darker than oil I've changed on cars that was overdue and 1 year old. Oil filter was fine. Changed the oil & filter, warranty'd the oil pressure sensor, and after a day of driving on fresh clean oil, the dual stage oil pump that previously threw p06DD was once again working correctly (upshift to 75+ PSI under load as expected). Fresh VRaP is still pretty clean a few weeks later.

@@brassmule wow that sounded like a lot you had to go thru. I’m glad you got it warrantied. Do you know if your neighbor used full synthetic previously?

you should get a bore scope so you can look inside the fill port and the valve train. That would show better what is going on. Appreciate your comment on how the motor is running with less noise in the winter time. I switched to Schaefer's for that reason that someone commented on. While Schaeffer's works great and has less noise on startup than the Valvoline extended protection Schaeffer's is expensive. I will probably give Valvoline restore and protect a shot because it is half the cost of Schaefer's. FYI if you want to run a bigger filter try out Purolator PBL24651. It is a bit of a trick to snake up in there because of its size but it fits on my 2022 F150 3.5 ecoboost.
