The wheelchair lift kit is such an expensive piece of equipment. It would be awesome if you could donate to a local disabled veteran. I bet there are VA groups in your area that could connect you with someone who needs it. Even if it doesn't work, I'm confident Bryson and Garen could repair and install it themselves. They work magic on motorized stuff.

Kathryn Blodgett or a family with a child who has become reliant on a chair-having disability benefits sometimes limits what a family has access to.

@@gemmaluescher-verseckas1243 Absolutely, sadly there are far more people who need help, than equipment or funds available. Personal experience made me think of a veteran first. By the grace of God, all of our children have been healthy.

Hi Gary. I've been watching for a little while and over the lockdown, I've watched plenty of episodes. I think I should become a Patreon so when I figure that bit out, I'll say hey. I am a retired musician myself though, really what the heck is retirement? So I like to listen to the music you've been making for your channel. It's one of those side things that, because the channel is so big and full and has so many people doing so many things, runs all through the episodes like a weave in a tapestry. That is very cool. And don't think for a minute that the prog-rock part of you that hides away but can't help showing itself now and again goes unnoticed. I love that! heh heh So you guys have some very good things going on, obviously, so I thought it was about time to open up and say hello. I think we are rather close to the same age ish, and I can relate to the dad in you as I have a boy and a girl, who has married and moved out and started their own families. I am a bit ahead of you on grandchildren. Not that it's a competition mate. :) I am envious of your kids helping out so. Bryson and Bree, totally blow my mind in their creativity, motivation, and just the way they can innovate to make their ideas come to fruition. The hydroponics, the epoxy doors, and window, all these things are just fantastic to watch as they go from an idea to producing food and hanging functional art it's all in a way a reflection of your great your love affair and life together teaching and supporting some good kids that turned into great people. Fixing cars right? Garron and Ellie, I could try to go on and on but really, I am in awe of all they have accomplished. The baby, a granddaughter, I have one too so I know just how you feel about that tiny bundle of perfect love. You walking around with Azalia if you have had the chance to have a nap with her snoozing on your chest, man o man Gramps I know where you are coming from. Those kids are doing things right. Finding their own way, building their own dream. That was the course we took. As a musician, you know that you're a musician slash chemist or roofer, or pizza delivery boy. I was a Musician/stonemason in B.C. Canada so I could go tour and play music but also have a real job when the touring season was over. I know about back pain. Garron is a strong man and of course, a natural to jumping in and doing the heavy lifting. Good on ya mate, because you have the body for it. All I am saying is discipline yourself when it comes to lifting. I've seen you do some stuff and while watching you take that lift out of the van, I know that you know that that was all wrong. Working smart not hard seems lame and wasteful but, your family will need you in 60 years too. Ellie is a strong woman, in that there is no question. But Ellie would have a much better life if you were there to share it with her. Azalia too. The lift is out, you move forward on the project, but those little strains add up and when you look at your Dad, consider, do you want to walk around like your dad, walk with a cane, or be in a wheelchair. The pain only really goes away when you drink too much, or take a lot of pain killers or just sit in the recliner with your grandchildren. Unfortunately, your kids and hence, their kids will have a lot more to do than ease your back pain. Choose your battles mate. About Shea. That soul eh? I am a Canadian living, at the moment, in Montreal. Quebec isn't like Canada or America. It's not like France either. It is a culture and society apart from all of that. Now when you think of art, Montreal is a bit like the Louver. You walk in and it's like "awe geeze eh" You sort of gawk and point and stare and often say "Oh wow". Quebecois have a different way of doing things than the rest of Canada. I've lived all over Canada, not visited, lived. Distinct society is a very good description of Montreal. Shea is on a whole other wavelength I think. My wife, whom I fell in love with, at first sight, is an artist. I mean she would spend a week with you and have all of you inspired by the fifteen things she has created out of the stuff you have sitting around. Our walls are busy. But she works as a certified machinist making diamond-tipped precision tools from 5 am to 6 ish. She has to go work a 9-5 or she will go crazy. There has to be some "normal" in her life for her to be who she is. I didn't get this at first. But after I analyzed, worked the data, and learned to empathize with her, did I learn that she saw art and life from a parallax view than I. Certainly we both saw the same world, but the path to our goals was just slightly askew. Which as it turns out, is perfect. She makes up for all the faults of mine. I see things she just can not. We have learned to talk to each other in a way that doesn't detract, but instead, inspires creative thinking in an alternate direction. Inspiration. I am no one on the Internet, but if I am right, and Shea finds someone who cherishes her and can supply the counterpoint to her view, great things will come from that couple. Shea has that magic in her. Anywho, I will wrap this novella up with an all-around hug, I think your parenting has built something quite significant and that I will be trying to ape what I can and wish you all a very good year and most prosperous harvest.

With Eugene getting into the lower plants.. unfortunately, it's in his nature to dig whenever he finds vegetation so, you're always going to have that problem. You are eventually going to need to do one if two things. 1. Make some kind of barrier around every plant (including trees and cacti) that also extends about 2 feet underground. 2. Have a vet install a snout ring into his snout. It doesn't actually hurt him, just makes it hard for him to use his snout normally. And, since that's what he will use to dig up things, problem permanently solved. Trust me, the snout ring is better than having a tree fall on your house because of root damage caused by a sweet little piggy. He can also do damage to your foundations and the walls without the snout ring.
@theducklinghomesteadandgar66394 жыл бұрын
Jenn Worthington Wow, I love reading the comments just as much as I love watching their videos!!!!! There is always something to learn new from both!!!! The nose ring doesn't cause even some discomfort this stopping the digging, it is as simple as not allowing him to use his snout in the same manner? I ALWAYS thought it caused a tenderness when pushed against or tugged on which was the whole reason people used them...to use it to control large animals!! I always thought they were cruel because of that!!

Offer the wheel chair lift to a church. They are always looking for those or to someone handicapped that needs a new one. When I was in a wheelchair for many years someone did that for us and when I got better we gave it to the church to use in their church bus. They still use it ten years later. How did the snails get in there? From the first fish. These are water snails right? Not land snails. Also. I wondered who works and what do they do. Just curious. Is shae living her new job? Also super excited about the van and will that entail some travel maybe part time or even full time?

FYI: We had neon tetras and Angel fish off and on over the years. Then the Angel fish got bigger and started dining on the smaller tetras we added in so I wouldn't recommend the two together if you decide to add Angel fish to your tanks. Sad to say I don't have either since the kids left home and they have learned from from it and don't do that. My daughter and husband have Salt Water tanks which is a completely new experience!
