Yes, the benefits of living in a van certainly out way the negatives, many people opt to stay safe, locked in their comfort zone, programmed to keep working, paying the bills, and patiently waiting for the golden years to arrive, but never really experience true living. For me, a big positive of van life is getting out of the ‘system’, and as much as possible living truly independently. 👍

Thanks Dee! I always appreciate your perspective and this one resonates with so many of us who can or could benefit from simplicity. I come alive when I get to experience nature and don’t have to deal with clutter either physical or mental. So many opportunities to decompress and just be. Even though there are many things to contend with in any given situation, so much better to deal with them in freedom. Thanks again friend. Enjoying our WEEKLY visits through your videos.

Wonderful video that hit the nail on the head. Great job, Dee! The biggest benefits for me , personally, are mental health and education. Add your five benefits, and it all adds up to an incredible daily experience. I meet amazing people along the way. Tonight is a van life meet up on Fiesta Island here in San Diego with a DJ and a live band. It should be a blast! One of the benefits you mentioned was the change of scenery, the freedom to change your backyard as often as you wish...or to remain in that same place you've come to love. I document my travels on Facebook, and the decision to live the nomadic lifestyle is one I shall never regret.

Have loved & thoroughly enJOYed watching your youtube videos Dee, & often feeling like I AM virtually traveling with you. All that you share & teach is wonderful . Wishing i had learned all this several years ago. Am in my ,81st year her on Planet Earth now. Realizing now that I COULD have embarked on a NOMAD van life when i was just 68 after my Beloved Dave had suddenly without warning TRANSITIONED out of his body ( some say he died) .All i needed was a Van to get started. That would have been easily doable in 2013 when the house sold as my 2004 Toyota Avalon was paid off ,so could have been sold ! I had made ap few cross country trips in that automobile & me 2000 Jeep wrangler already by myself ! Had enJOYed tent camping lots by myself as well as living & camping in the 5th wheel my now ex husband & I owned !! Saying all this to do my part to encourage other women thinking about doing this NOMAD LIFE ! IF you are physically able & desire this ,just GO FOR IT ! Dee is so encouraging & helpful as well as CAT LADY VAN & several others . Dont let fears or lack of "enough money" hold you back !! Blessings to whoever is reading this ❤

When she started junior high school she wanted to be home with friends so we did that. The internet, and KZbin, make it easy to interact and learn so much. I enjoyed your comment. 💜 God bless you.

The squirrel thanks you for making him the first Tiny Red Van Fan despite missing his last payment due to unexpected expenses. Maybe the algorithm will like the number of nut jokes this might cause. This was a nice recap of what you have learned about van life. Not one detail a long-time viewer doesn't already know, but it's nice to hear an update of your perspective on it all. Details can always be learned by trial and error, but a dreamer or newcomer seeing one perspective that their own might evolve to, is very valuable. It might cut months off their struggle phase, or save them a big pile of money, or convince them to hit the road sooner rather than later, and with more confidence. For me, there is the added benefit of just loving hearing your voice, seeing your smiling face, and being entranced by your demeanor. I doubt that I'm alone in appreciating seeing any new video you post, because I can be sure my day will be better, even if it's already really good. My own day has been great, due to spending part of it researching all the alternatives of where to scoot to if the weather turns bad where I plan to view the April 8 total solar eclipse in Texas. Google Maps and the Jubier 2024 interactive eclipse map have both been getting a workout from me.

Thank you for another great video. Even if you are driving, your carbon footprint living in a van or small vehicle is much smaller than in an apartment or house. I have noticed the "Van life" community, uses items up or passes the item on to others. To get something I have to get rid of something because I don't have space to spare. I love that people just accept you the way you are. As a whole monads will pitch in and help rather than criticize. It is such a diverse group and as a group they are kind and grateful. Just like backpacking, I find I am happier with less. Thank you again for your video. Safe travels.

I worked as a long haul truck driver in Canada and USA. Well. My company and house was in Canada but I delivered goods all across North America. 3 weeks on the road, 3 days at home. So I do know what living in a small space means. Now that I live in Panama, I mostly sit outside the house. My girlfriend has always a discussion with me about that. “I don’t like to sit inside. I did this for years, living in a small place. I need air!” That’s how I feel about it. Building my house, I know where my main space will be. Right. Outside. 😊

It depends. I have dry hair so I can go longer without washing.

Do you live full time in the tiny red van? I have watched you for several years but cannot figure out if you live full time and travel or travel but have a home base. I really want to do this and have looked at several vans and am trying to decide yes go for it or try it just part time.
@LadyBugout6 ай бұрын
Yes, and it would definitely be a good idea to try it first. I have seen too many people spend a lot of money before they even know if this is something they want to do. I started with a Dodge Journey that I already had and made some adjustments to go out for a few months before I knew I could do this.

Wonderful episode as usual Dee💜 Mobile life is certainly something else entirely. The feelings experienced in the course of daily living bring a palpable existentialism to being human and alive on the planet. The freedom from a rote, “normal” life in Western culture is replaced by finding out what’s really important beyond the mores of a system based upon, “whomever dies with the most toys wins.” This life is a blessing available which you didn’t realize, until you live it. 🌿
