I've worked one of those as an RN. Started at the vital sign station, then quickly got moved to assisting an Oral Surgeon doing tooth extractions. Seriously.. the number of people we were able to help in one day.. simply because we got to do the care and not have to spend half an hour per pt doing documentation.. which is really only for insurance / reimbursement purposes. Take insurance rules out of the picture.. and focus on the pt. Do realize.. not everyone can be seen, and if you need vision and dental, depending on how many staff are present, you may get one or both, or not. They work as fast as they can, but if they have 10 stations and 400 people show up.... don't expect "hundreds" of dental chairs at every clinic. .maybe 10-20 in many places. All are volunteers, many may be dental students etc or currently licensed physicians and nurses.

Thank you, Bob. Thank you, Suanne. Thank you, RAM. It's really comforting to know this. I recently lost my dental and eyecare insurance because I didn't have money to pay for the insurance or the care. I have some serious issues with both that have been weighing on me. It's good to know there are people there that can and want to help. I'm breathing a little easier after watching this. I hope you can feel my tears of gratitude for your kindness.

this is a great organization - and also thanks to Sue Ann for not "sugar coating" some of the difficult portions of using their services such as - you must choose ONE service you want on a particular day, and that it is a very long day. Very much worth it for those who don't have other access to services.

Columbus Ohio has a free clinic on Monday night's that sounds very similar. All the medical personnel are volunteers. They offer the same services for free. They use the health department building, and it's starts at 5 pm. The staff there are also so caring and compassionate! You do have to wait a while, so I brought snacks, a sodoku book, something to read, water, etc. I was diagnosed with Diabetes there, and received medicine, and a couple sessions with a nutritionist. I also got an eye exam and free pair of glasses! I worked as a temporary for 8 years, and could not afford the super high medical benefits through the temp agencies, so this place helped me so much, and treated me wonderfully! Nice to know there's options on the road, thanks for this video!

But my teeth are failing faster than I will be able to save the money to fix them in Algodones and here you are again with another great video. What a great program. I'm on social security disability and I also draw a pension. I do have medicare but I don't have dental or eye care as I make too much for help. I use a community clinic for all my health care and I do qualify for a sliding fee. I plan on doing my yearlies through the Clinic when I start summering up here in Wisconsin and Minnesota. During winter months (when I start my nomad life) it's good knowing something like this exists in case I need it.

Some of the clinics I'm aware of, are mobile, many are in permanent locations They can be difficult to find & yes, lines are extremely long & wait time can be very long. I am aware of some of the clinics in Kansas. Your local Health Department or SRS office will be able to direct you I'm so impressed with all of your volunteering! Hopefully others who see this will either benefit from the services or help in any way they can 💕. I'm going there now, to register as a RN. Thanks! 👍
