I would say for a "Van Fan", I am on the rather young side (35 years old). But for most of my 20s I lived my life with Van Morrison running through my head. I would fall asleep to his greatest hits, and they would wake me up each morning. He is by far my favorite singer/songwriter to ever live. Although I love them all, my favorite song is "Summertime in England".

That was the first song of his I ever heard, back in 1971. It was just the beginning of a long road with Van as my companion, extending even into today and concerts of his that I STILL go to. He may be a bit slower, but all that soul he ever had - he draws the audience in and lightens their load for awhile in the amazement of the space this performer gets into.
