I love Emperor Joker because it's basically the plot of Final Fantasy 6 (a jester steals the power of three divine entities and becomes a God of Magic who breaks the world), and proof positive as far as I am concerned that Kefka inspired the modern brooding nihilistic joker seen since the 2000s, not the other way around.

You know for such a wacky and insane premise, the execution and overall plot of this comic run is dark and almost tragic in a way. The fact that the Joker broke Batman to the point of him wanting Superman to commit assisted suicide for him breaks my heart. But there’s something that’s nice about Superman deciding that he rather take Bruce’s memories of pain and deal with that for the rest of his existence than to put Bruce out of his misery. His shows that even in a moment of darkness and despair Superman can go above and beyond to do the good natured thing

For all those who doesn't know: In "The Three Jokers", The Batman has confirmed that he has known the Joker's real name right after a week since their first encounter but revealing his real identity ain't gonna give Bruce any advantage against the Joker. Never had, never will! Just imagine if The Batman reveals The Joker's real identity, then what? Will it harm The Joker in any way? Nope! Will the identity reveal stop him from being The Joker? Nope! So what's the point of revealing his identity when the things will remain just as it was before revealing the identity? With the Joker, it's not about who he is but what he does! In short, The Joker is the best example of "What's in a name?".
