Okay my house owner asked us to vacate last week within 1.5 months. We are in house hunting right now. It's non seasonal as generally people vacate more only during summer that's after the kids annual exams are over. It really sucks to wander in the streets in search of a decent home like Street dogs!!! These finfluencers pay 50k to 1 lac rent and it's easy to find a very good home. But for us to find a decent home is a nightmare!!!

I am of the opinion of renting rather than buying, and the reasons are same as Sharan gave. However, I must agree, you got a point here. Once stuck in that situation, even I feel frustrated and pisses off, and thoughts of buying a house kicks in. Nevertheless, I have kept my cool till now. I'm not sure how long will I be able to keep my cool though.

Sharan sounds so delusional here. Two examples: i10 doesn't cost just 3-4 lakhs. Today, you won't even get a Maruti 800 for that price. On topic of buying house: Varun mentions psychological safety, but sharan answers wrt financial safety. This guy seriously doesn't know the pain of living in a rented home.

Everyone who is not a financial influencer and ultra rich should buy a house. There are hundreds of practical (not emotional) reasons. One if them being your rent increases every year with 10-15% but your EMI stays the same factoring income tax relaxation you get for home loan after some time buying house become cheaper then renting. Also if something happens to you at least your wife and kids will have a roof other wise they will be collecting and liquidating all your Demat accounts for years.

The day the company employees starts to talk like you, then they are not working for salary and they believe in the mission that they are working on. This is true ! Thats where company culture keeping everyone in synce, will make the team really good despite success or failure. The fact is nobody will regret when they have failed too..

Buy a house at the earliest as per capabilities and clear off the loan asap. Rents are going insane in metro cities. And how long will you live on rent? So many factors against renting. First and foremost, finding a decent house itself is a pain. You cant decorate it the way you want. For bachelors, finding a house is difficult. What if the landlord tells you to vacate or increases the rent to a high amount? Where will you go? Happened with a friend where he was paying 45k pm rent and landlord asked him for 75k. Not everyone can and will make money from stocks. In metros, your rent is almsot on par with your emi. And taking examples of Nikhil Kamath is not right. Not everyone is a billionaire who landlords will refuse or who will never have to worry about his fiture. Nikhil can literally buy the house he lives in or any property if and when he pleases. Most of us cant. Always buy a house to be safe. Never buy an apartment for investment if you already have a house.

The issue is that companies need to attract employees for the vision, but they never ever treat them right and exploit them, then they will say that employees are not loyal. Employees are motivated by two things money and purpose, when neither of them is there, why should an employee stay and work for a shit company.

He always gives Nikhil Kamath example, he is not a normal dude, he doesnt own a house, doesnt wanna marry at all or have kids. Is there any other Billionaire without their own house. Nikhil Kamath stays in Kingfisher towers and i am sure he is paying or 8 to 10 lakhs rent a month. So this is a terrible example. Owning a house might not be normal for people who are born in a own house, guys like me who lived in rented house all their life, its a big deal and you cant equate that with financal goal.

This is what emotional decision but you are right in your situation that the people who born in own house doesn't know the pain that the tenants face in rented house and everybody is successful in their own point of view for somebody making change in the world without the personal life is crt in his POV and for somebody beautiful personal life is important than the being in Forbes list things change to person to person

Buying a house is emotional decision and practical decision. Don't deploy over logic into that.. Apply basic finance logic..don't overdo it.. No father is going to give you his daughter in rented home.. No parents are going to get peace of life in rented home. No freedom in rented home either.

If that was true companies won't increase their margins while at the same time fire employee in bulk in the garb of cost cutting during inflation that too for multi billion companies who have plenty of money to retain employees. You can look at the billionaires and the fact most big enough companies move out to places where they have to pay low/no tax like flipkart, etc. From this logic drug dealers are also not in the field money because then why will they risk it, right?

Haven't seen such a fool as Sharan. Nonsense advice to live on rent. You can't keep on setting up things again and again. There are thousands of things one can do in own house. For example, I'd want to make a smart home, have the best AC or setup a projector, have automated curtains or doors, have the furniture that is functional and as per your house structure and whatnot.. Would you or could you do that in a rented home? Never.. Home is home, not just a house. In rented home, you can't even drill a hole to hang a painting.

What he really means is that buy a house only when u are financially sorted... there is no point in giving EMI if u are already hand to mouth... so first increase ur corpus . I totally agree with him especially if u are buying house or flat for investment purpose... that doesn't make any sense at all... u can grow ur money in a much better way... but yes if u have no place to stay, n u r buying house for staying... then u are right... for me since i have my parents house to stay if need be , i really don't see the need to block my finances by buying a separate house... and moreover buying a flat in todays world also seems an immature decision especially if u are buying for investment purpose... given a large inventory lying unused, and getting dilapidated fast !!!
