For those wanting oil free, wondering if you could bake and then air fry? Or bake and finish last few minutes with a spray of oil to crisp up? But these look yum!

I wonder... does anyone find Brett to resemble Pedro Pascal - aka - Javier Peña (in Narcos) and "The Red Viper" in Game of Thrones? That's a compliment by the way. Looks like a really delicious recipe but since I eat oil-free I will probably have to pass (cooking this will probably result in a mediocre taste)

How many times: THIS IS NOT SAUERKRAUT!
@tamcon726 жыл бұрын
If it's cultured shredded cabbage, yes, it is.
@StrayFire6 жыл бұрын
@@tamcon72 Dude, it is the national dish of my country. Don't tell me what Sauerkraut is and what it is not. Sauerkraut is made of white cabbage. Not red cabbage. It never has been made this way. This is just some stupid American importer who thought fermented red cabbage would sell better if labeled "Sauerkraut." We use different kinds of white cabbages. But it is ALWAYS white! We have own recipes for red cabbage.
@tamcon726 жыл бұрын
@@StrayFire If you are German, you do make lacto-fermented red cabbage in the exact same way as white cabbage, so then in translation it would be referred to by the general culinary name, "sauerkraut" meaning, soured cabbage. In culinary terms, it does not matter what color the cabbage is. It matters that it's cabbage, rather than cucumbers or crabapples or whatever. There is no culinary term in English[or French, for that matter] to abide by your distinction-making, so please let this go. Or offer an alternate term. P.S. I have for years bought imported German made vinegar or salt-brined red cabbage labeled "sauerkraut," so I know it isn't a fiction of Americans' imaginations.
@tamcon726 жыл бұрын
@@StrayFire [sigh]Now that you've got that off your protectionist chest, re-read my argument: In English culinary terms, cabbage, and only cabbage, of whatever sort, that is fermented as is typical in Germany, is referred to as "sauerkraut." If you are suggesting that it be referred to in English as Fermentierter Rotkohl if red cabbage is used, well, it won't happen because this is not transliteration but actual German and is therefore not succinct or efficient, but that at least is a suggestion on your part.
@StrayFire6 жыл бұрын
@@tamcon72 How is "Sauerkraut" or "Bratwurst" a transliteration but not "Rotkraut?" You make no sense. But then again, which American does? You now know that every German speaking person in the world hates it, when someone calls red cabbage Sauerkraut. It is your own choice to continue being the guy that calls it that way or you could start to learn the proper name "Rotkraut" or "fermented red cabbage" and let us Germans live in peace. I don't know why I care so much. Maybe because we Germans do not have much tradition left that we are allowed to be proud of. Dont treat these last traditions without respect if you want a German to calm down.

Brett is vegan yet wearing a..Guess shirt ? :/ I am not being mean but he could have worn a different shirt. Guess uses animal skins to make their products and the last thing he would want to do as an ethical vegan is wear their logo in the center of his shirt. I get that Guess is a luxurious brand and all but there are other brands who are cruelty free that deserve to be given a shoutout instead. Nonetheless I have enjoyed the recipe. Great work ! Ps: what I edited was Brett's name as I mistakenly started my comment with "Tim" instead
@CB-kt7qd6 жыл бұрын
Estrellita maybe he had his shirt before becoming a vegan, or maybe he does not know about Guess shirt, as i don’t. Btw we should not judge by appearances
@user-od9xe5oy5s6 жыл бұрын
@@CB-kt7qd I agree with you that we should not judge by appearance . What I did was state what I saw. I did not say he is unethical or that he does not care. But as a vegan with such a big platform , he should have known better. Ps: if he was plant based only I would not have said it, but he always talks about the ethics of veganism .
@user-od9xe5oy5s6 жыл бұрын
@1234 you are not in the spotlight, he is. From what you said I understand that you are plant based and not much into the ethics of veganism, that is your choice of course. What I am saying is that it is ironic that an advocate of ethical veganism wears a logo of a company who slaughters animals to make luxurious items. It is different when you have hundreds of thousands of followers and advocate for ethical and point out what is right and what is wrong and then film a video with a shirt that has a big logo of a very unethical company.
@user-od9xe5oy5s6 жыл бұрын
@1234 also I firmly believe that it is more ethical to keep non vegan items that work perfectly than throwing it away and buying something else , that's foolish. I kept a pair of timberland boots long after I went vegan. They served me well and kept my feet warm but once they got bad I went and got myself a pair of vegan boots. Now if I were a vegan youtuber/ influencer I would avoid wearing a big logo on my chest from a company I have been advocating against because then i have an influence over a big audience and it just looks foolish.You know what I mean? That's all.
@Mimijona6 жыл бұрын
@@user-od9xe5oy5s I completely agree. I still have sandals and shoes from way before that throwing away would just waste away the life anyway, I'm not saying I don't ever think about what those shoes are made of, but I still think this is better unless you have an acquaintance you can give them to or donate.
