Remarkable how short this video is and how beautiful the results are. You are right it is no BS, no backstories and jokes and faces. No Hollywood antics or showmanship, just honest cooking that elevates the confidence of ordinary people. Sometimes, the sauce splashes, and garbanzo beans don't make the bowl-like real people. I appreciate you not cutting that out and making home cooks apprehensive rather than empowered. Thank you, Yeung Man.

Loved it. So many ways to make Tabula salad, and I loved how you used cucumbers (not many of us do, but it eases the bitterness of the parsley for some people). I also use spring onions (green onions) because they are sweeter for my taste. I add sumac pepper (for the sweet and sour flavor). Try Baba Ghanoog (mashed seasoned eggplant) which is not as popular as Hummus. In most middle eastern countries, Baba Ghanoog, Hummus, Tabula, and cucumber yogurt salad are served as appetizers before big meals at restaurants, weddings, during Lent, or as a final meal of the day to avoid heavy meals late at night (the men add Ouzo drinks sometimes 😉) Thanks again for being multi cultural with your recipes 👏👏👏

Yeh!! I so agree!! It's incredible! There's a place here in town called "Pita House" where I can get the "vegetarian platter" and if you merely switch out the cucumber sauce for the tahini sauce it's vegan! If you want a sunny lemon flavor to your hummus, use a centrifugal force juicer on washed and quartered lemons with the peel intact, you'll get fresh juice with lemon skin oil, you may have to add a little bit of a dry ingredient like dried parsley or seasoned bread crumbs to get the right consistently, but you'll get next level lemon flavor your guests will rave about.

I have a life hack for lids that won't come off, and it's super simple. Take the jar and turn it on it's side. Tap the side of the lid four times against the edge of your kitchen counter or table or what have you. Turn the jar one quarter of a turn, then tap the side of the lid again. Do it again until you have tapped it four times. Try the lid and it will probably come right off, but if it doesn't, carefully turn the jar upside down and tap the top of the lid four times on the counter/table or whatever. The lid should come off easily. I've never had this method fail, and I've had some very stuck lids that I have used this on. It's kinda fun if you have someone who is totally muscle-bound who can't get it open, and you just calmly tap it a few times, then gently twist, and voila! It's open as easy as that. It's a great way to leave your spouse's/ boyfriend's jaw on the floor!

Tip for opening jar - works every time - turn jar upside down and TAP ON THE GROUND - tap the corners of the jar on about 4 or 5 spots while rotating the jar - repeat if it doesn't open - you may need to tap a tiny bit harder - been doing this for 30 years - taught to me by a sweet 80 yr old lady - cheers from Canada
