Which seemed to be his main contention here, or at least he used that conflict to avoid answering questions. There are different definitions out there, one aligns with his definition (wiktionary): A decision in bad faith to avoid becoming informed about something so as to avoid having to make undesirable decisions that such information might prompt. And another that aligns with Mel's definition (rational wiki): Willful ignorance differs from ordinary “ignorance“ - when someone is simply unaware of something - in that willfully ignorant people are fully aware of facts, resources, and sources, but refuse to acknowledge them. Ugh semantics. It's frustrating when a conversation derails because of the definition of a word. So silly!

He is a human being which means he was given a moral compass to know the difference between right and wrong. Abusing an animal is wrong and everyone knows it and that's why non-vegans will get defensive at vegans. Great job, but you gotta stop saying that the dictionary definition of murder doesn't limit it to humans (2:19) , because the definition absolutely does make it about humans. Here are some samples of definitions of murder: "the crime of unlawfully and unjustifiably killing a person ," "the unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another," "the killing of a human being by a sane person, with intent, malice aforethought," and so on and so on. That you might find a definition here or there that leaves out these words doesn't mean anything - this is clearly the accepted meaning. The far better point is that that is just semantics and that unjustified killing of animals is wrong. And you know that "person" means human to almost everyone on the planet. Veganism is, in my opinion, an unarguable moral imperative.
