This was lovely and relaxing to watch with the b-roll and chill music in the bg. Also really enjoyed your camera presence in this video, it was very calm and confident, I felt like I was watching a cooking show on TV!

Hey Sam, Thanks so much, this was really great feedback. I was aiming to make it like a real TV show and learn to present more chilled. The sound was the only issue I had as during filming as it when to camera sound instead of the mic. Learnings, right? Hope you like the next one just as much. xox

Thank you so much for making this video! It was my first time attempting a vegan cake, or a layer cake in general. With your instructions and video, the cake turned out amazing, and is awaiting an eager Thanksgiving crowd! :^)

Enjoyed watching this, but looks like so much work to make (I'm not a baker....yet). Quick question: is the coconut cream available in the U.S., and if not, do you have a recommended replacement?

Hi Sara! Beautiful cake 😍 I'm interested in your patreon as I want to start my own vegan baking business. The only thing I'm worried is that so far - all vegan cake recipes would not be so well recieved in my country. People here are not used to a super thick cake and loads of buttercream. Even I don't like buttercream, although I looove sweets. Do you have any recipes for creams that are sturdy enough to build cakes, yet more creamy and light, than buttercream? I do some myself, like avocado chocolate, silken tofu creams and cashew based ones. However they're all quite expensive and it's not like you can always find ripe avos.
@VeganBakesBySaraKidd4 жыл бұрын
Hey Julija That's really exciting. There are many other options than buttercream. You can use different types of fillings like compote, curds, sauces and almond creams, pastry creams and ganache. My favourite buttercream recipe is my cream cheese buttercream as it's sour and not so sweet. You can also soak cakes and then just cover in a topping. I did this for my Tres Leches Cake which is the second episode in this series. What would probably benefit you the most would be my $5 Patreon tier where I run monthly online live workshops. These are also recorded and include exclusive recipes. You can request workshops as well. You can see previous workshops here and I have one coming up this weekend: sarakidd.com/vegan-baking-courses/ Let me know if you have any questions xox

Great video and recipe. I have tried it. The only thing I cannot make work when following the instructions is the cream, which turns out too runny...
@jowolf7559 Жыл бұрын
I think vegan whipping cream is easier. I made it work with Oddly Good Easy Whipping, and the cake ended up being the way it was supposed. Thank you for the video and the recipe. I believe I would not have been able to make it work with just the recipe...

I don't understand how you keep that cream liquid! As soon as I pour it out of the blender, it solidifies immediately. And once I put it in the fridge, the coconut oil makes it completely solid. What is this magic??? I tried several times, and now I have a lot of very sweet coconut oil. 😢

I whipped the coconut cream in the blender. But it came out much thicker then yours. I admit, I made a mistake and blended on high speed. But xanthan gum would thicken it anyway in a fridge with time
@VeganBakesBySaraKidd4 жыл бұрын
Sometimes it comes out thicker depending on how warm the oil is. It will still work :-)

You're so sweet, but please know that we were meant to eat butter, cream. As a native Swede, I can't imagine having a princess cake without the indulgence of real cream and butter while making the cakes in Sweden. Do As you wish, but you're not a bad person to eat the real thing. Vegan butter is just oil, and that doesn't make the good flavor that real butter does.

You're sweet too but please look at what happens in the dairy industry. Animals suffer needlessly for your enjoyment, baby cows are ripped away from their mothers, and the dairy industry is wreaking havoc on the environment. You are paying for this cruelty to happen. We are not meant to be eating another species secretions. You are not a baby cow. This recipe tastes absolutely amazing and is cruelty free which makes it even better. Choose a life where you're not contribution to the suffering of others.
