Thanks for the great video, Michelle!Here's where I stand in a nutshell. I am an RN and as such have quite thorough understanding of nutrition not by merits of education but because I am really interested in nutrition. I've seen and read the prominent books by Dr's. Gregor,McDougal, Esselstyn and others. I tried going WFPB few years ago, but didn't see results in a few months of eating clean vegan(for the most part) and went back to eating dairy and eggs. I am 52 years old, 6'3" around 230 lbs, and would like to reach around 190. I have just resumed plant based diet, but have terrible bloating and have actually gained weight despite eating sensibly and drinking lots of water. I am also active and ride a bike as often as possible. Any word of advice?

I think my biggest struggle is nuts. I love cashews I love peanut butter, walnuts, brazil nuts, I love coconut milk. I don't necessarily need to be losing weight but I would like to lose even just three or four pounds and combat this love of nuts. I do try to keep things in good portions and so I will give myself that but I do pretty much eat them everyday.

Being a vegan is the best decision of my life. I skip the bananas, rice, nuts and bread. Too starchy fattening nuts for me as I got into a plateau as to losing more weight. The weight went right off when I no longer ate those foods and 60 minutes on the treadmill doing light walking daily.

It is the cleanest and purest plant milk I found. No additives or oils added. I also just bought electric milk frother ($30) and now I froth Malk in it for my morning coffee - so easy and YUM!:) It feels like a special treat. Hope this helps. Take care.

@veganmichele3 жыл бұрын
Hi Milena, I personally don’t recommend it, because I resonate with experts like Dr. Neal Barnard, T Colin Campbell and Dr. Gregor and the studies seem to conclude keeping it low fat is a better way to go. But if you feel like that is working well for you, then it’s completely up to you. I think the element of intermittent fasting thrown into a low fat whole food plant based diet can work for some, if that’s what your after it may be useful. But I also don’t typically recommend it if you’ve had a history of disordered eating. Retraining yourself to stop when satisfied and eat at the whisper of hunger, not snack and really stay consistent is what I’ve seen work time and time again☺️

Love the video ❤️❤️. I have a question😊. I always feel you have great advice . I eat whole food plant based and I don’t go out to eat much but a friend of mine invited me to eat sushi and I declined but in the future what are some good healthy vegan close to whole food plant based options you would say I could grab in the future . I’m clueless
@veganmichele3 жыл бұрын
Hi Bianca! Sushi may have actually been a great option. You could do cucumber, or any veggie they have type roll. Mango and avocado roll. Just keep it simple with some edamame and eat a big salad or Veggies to fill up before you go. Here’s my top cuisines for staying on track: Indian Mexican Thai Japanese Or if you are able to pick, you can chose a vegan restaurant and chose ahead of time what you will have that aligns with your future goals and stick to that. Most of these will have a grain and bean/tofu or steamed veggie option and you can stay closer to on track. Of course you may find things in too much oil and salt, but don’t make it a regular habit and get back on course with your next meal and you’ll be good to go👍🥰

So far about a month in the diet., one thing I notice is weakness around lunch time. Oatmeal for breakfast and soup at lunch makes me still feel kind of deprived. Not sure if I am doing it wrong or it doesn't work for me. I'm at 1600-1800 calories a day…
@veganmichele3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Try adding in something heartier to your lunch time meal to accompany to your soup. Great choice would be some potatoes, beans, or grains. Even some roasted chickpeas on a salad will add some crunch to your soup only meal. See if that helps😁

I'm eating mostly raw, mostly vegetables. my water content on Cronometer is always over 100%, and I have to get up during the night to pee. TMI time: I've been collecting my pee for my compost pile and plant amendments using 2 half-gallon mason jars, and every day by 5 they're both full. the second jar is always darker in color, definitely darker than lemonade. I don't feel dehydrated, and I really don't want to get up multiple times during the night. could the darker coloration be due to excess vitamins and minerals? my micros are off the charts, and I wonder if I need to dial them back a bit
@veganmichele3 жыл бұрын
Are you taking any vitamins or supplements that are causing the color to change?
@PinkieJoJo3 жыл бұрын
You really need to be seen by a physician. Peeing that much while always feeling dehydrated is not good. Sounds like either an electrolyte imbalance or even perhaps beginning signs of diabetes (the 3 P’s- polyuria: increased urination, polydipsia: increased thirst, and polyphasic: increased hunger). When you say you always feel dehydrated are you saying you are always thirsty? How is your hunger? Things to consider and as I said, get checked out.
@veganmichele3 жыл бұрын
It could be your kidneys filtering waste.
