We just bought a new Honda. These are the 2 we looked at. I really dislike the new dash on the CRV. The vented look, but not actually vents is ridiculous. I like the rear look of the CRV, but the front of the Passport. I love love love the center console on the Passport. Also, it was important to us that the back seats lay down flat with the cargo area. I believe the CRV will do that, but with some extra effort to eliminate the hump. Finally, I love the push button. I came from a vehicle that had the shifter on the coumn, so it wasnt a big deal. I also know that not having a tradtional shifter is cleaner looking and gets that knob out of the way. We ended up buying a Passport. It was the size and smooth ride that did it for us. But I think the CRV is a great option at a lower price point.

'22 Honda Passport Trailsport here. One of the main reasons to get the Passport over the CRV is simply power. Yes it'll cost more in fuel and it'll be a bit more expensive MSRP but you're paying for a more fun sporty ride vs something "driveable". I was considering both vehicles but after test driving both, the Passport is straight up just more fun to drive. (If that's what your're looking for). If your priority is gas mileage, you know your answer. A couple other highlights is the Torque Vectoring AWD system on the Passport which makes the handling better than its mid sized SUV competitors (Grand Cherokee, Madza CX-5). Had the capability for some light offroading (Camping, backroad, softtrails) and it handles great in those conditions. You'll get more cargo out of the Passport and have the capability to tow if you and the fam have a camper or boat.

I have a 2019 Honda CRV. I drove the Passport 4 years ago and loved the extra power and room but it was new and very few were available so they were priced at a premium. The CRV has been okay, gets me to where I need to go with good gas mileage. I was disappointed that the air conditioning crapped out not long after the warranty expired but Honda made it right. But it's time to upgrade, I'm a big guy at 6'2' and would like the added room that the Pilot or Passport provides. I like the Pilot but I really don't need the 3rd row, it wouldn't get used. So that's why I have been researching the Passport again. Passport wins for cargo capacity & more rugged versatility. CR-V wins for overall design & fuel economy. Passport push button shifter is the only real downside. Two reasons : 1) lack of safety & convenience. With a push button shifter, you have take your eyes off the road to operate. Imagine trying to make a 4-5 point turn getting in or out of a tight space. Not motion-friendly. 2) The push button location is accident waiting to happen - when someone accidentally spills their Big Gulp or chocolate milk shake on it. 😅 Console electronics are never friends with sticky drinks. The CR-V is the logical option. For people complaining about “You can’t tow with the CR-V” or “It’s not enough room”, all you have to do to correct those issues you have with the CR-V is upgrade your package to the “Sport Touring” (which is still cheaper than the passport btw), and with the “Sport Touring” version you get the option to add a trailer hitch, a little more space, and not to mention It’s better on fuel (you get a whopping 40mpg). The CR-V is the most logical option, and again you can get everything you want that the passport has for a much cheaper price tag than the passport.

Love my 2017 CRV exl. Do not like the 2023 design of dash. But next one is Passport for me. Pref Trailsport. You can get 2022 cheaper. Passport is underated in looks but I think of it as a muscle and real utility car. No led on high beam and carplay needs USB. Both fixable.

Transmission is the game changer for me. Ctv are slow and problematic

compact suv: HRV -- regular SUV: CR-V -- giant SUV: Passport Why are we comparing mama bear to papa bear? Passport is for those too shy to go for Expedition, Tahoe, Suburban, Escalade...

my review: One is bigger, taller, more powerful, uses more fuel as it isn't hybrid- period Reviewer: taillights are prettier, this bodyline is horizontal, mirrors reflect....

spends 10% of video on important feature comparison, 90% on aesthetics. Fortunately they were both grey!

The CRV is much better for me as I don't like huge cars.

The new CRV restyled front end looks too square and ugly the interior looks like the same from the accord and civic. After owning a 2016,18,20 CRV I took a hard pass and went right to the Passport don’t regret that decision one bit. The pricing is misleading in this video due to the models shown a CRV EXL will be closer to the 36/38 k price range my new Passport I picked up for 40k it is the EXL AWD model love the ride and room.

Like the Honda Passport V6 engine can't stand the gage cluster or the eyebrows on the front end
