Somehow Velma returned. After we all spent a few good weeks Hate-Watching Velma season 1, Velma and its creators like Mindy Kaling decided that they didn't get beat up enough. And now they're back for round two. Surprisingly, Velma season 2 toned all of the racism, sexism, sexual perversions, and man-hating WAY WAY down. Looks like our feedback actually reached someone of influence for once, after normally falling on deaf ears. The show still sucks and all of those hateful problems are still present in Velma Season 2, but it's clear that the show has somewhat bent the knee and kept thing much more tame this time. They weren't throwing nearly as many punches in this Round Two and the show feels defeated and down for the count, regardless of whether or not it returns for a 3rd season.

If I were in charge of this show, I would have dumped the humor, and I would have made a dark animated thriller where Velma has to solve a mystery involving a serial killer who murdered her parents and taunts her years later. Think "True Detective Season 1" meets "Twin Peaks." That would have been interesting.

They don't even need to use the characters from Scooby-Doo all they have to do is make their own characters based on the show, imagine a rich nitwit who gets a slow but steady character development who is the first suspect then proven innocent, a famous hot girl who has two mothers who gets entangled in the mess, a journalist or net blogger/poster who have a thing with the sharped tongue member, and of course the (Velma) sharped tongue member who is incredibly smart, competent and downright talented but have zero social skills.

Wait, so the writers chose to not include one of the most iconic characters in the original series that the show was named after in Season 1 and instead incorporate Scooby in some government acronym, and now in Season 2 they have Scrappy Doo, the nephew of Scooby, be the villain? Also seeing the depiction of Scrappy reminds me of Scrappy from the Live Action movie, you know, the movie with the mine controlled characters, creepy souls, oh and a mutant Scrappy Doo. Also, they somehow Velma made Scrappy look worse than his CGI counterpart.

A good *Scooby Doo* show should never be so racist, sexist, dissing of religions, or explicitly crude! I’ll admit Mindy Kaling did make a pretty good voice of Velma, but that bad personality is so unfitting. So, Mindy lost my respect. 👎
