I never got to see GnR or Velvet Revolver. However I did see STP in 2002 New Year’s Eve at Orlando Hard Rock and it was the best concert I ever saw! They played all their biggest hits, then played them all acoustically at the edge of the stage. Then played them all again with sheer genius gusto power that blew the crowd away! It was the most expensive concert I ever paid for. But today it would be 100 times more I bet! I’ve seen over 100 concerts and that was just brilliant! Only the bands Yes, Triumph, Tool, And Megadeth came close! But those other bands were all in their primes as well! I saw The Who in 83, blue oyster cult in 80 Rossington / Collins in the 80’s And Stranger band with Greg Allman and those were memorable! Megadeth with the Rust in piece lineup was the previous best oh and Ronnie James Dio with Vivian Campbell and Iron Maiden And Judas Priest were all lick ass and Alice Cooper and the Outlaws and Molly Hatchet oh and Foghat, cheap trick, Fleetwood Mac with the Rumors lineup, J. Geiles, bad company , the Firm, but the way that STP never for one second had any lean seconds while jamming and playing one cool song after another and playing them all three times just blew me and everyone away!! I’ve seen so many bands like Godmack, Greatful dead, Black crows, America, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, And even some cheesy bands like Bryan Adams who were just opening acts like the B-52’s opening for The Who believe it or not, the lord st goes on and on like when I went to see Ozzy but Randy Roades was killed 2 days before the concert so they replace him with pat Traverse who opened for Foreigner! I can’t remember anymore but I’ve seen more than I’ve named but honestly STP topped them all! Ok I can die and go to Heaven to see Lynyrd Skynyrd open for the Doors now!! By by cruel world and thank youScott Weiland oh I hope Lane Staley joins the Doors on my heavenly concert! God bless everyone who’s cool out there except one!!!

“The show starts around 7, we go on stage around 9” is such a comically GNR line. I was at 2 shows and they started respectively 2 and 3 hours later than expected because Axl was taking his damn time preparing. Folks in the audience would shout “Axl get your ass out here” or straight up leaving. I knew that the show will still be good so I didn’t consider leaving, but standing in a crowd waiting 3 hours into the night was annoying enough.
