The Marco reference just killed me. Had to wake up my wife to share that with her. We both laughed out loud. Tomorrow, Saturday morning, we are headed to Arizona to enjoy jeeping the backroads there and hopefully doing so in bright sunshine. If we’re lucky, we night see you thereabouts. If you see a big yellow Jeep with a old gray haired couple grinning ear to ear and waving like idiots as they roll by, it might be us. if you see a big goofy dog sticking his head out the window too, that’s us for sure.

That's the thing with Jeeps. A lot of people say "it's unreliable" and according to statistics it is. Interesting is how those statistics come to life these days and someone like Kelly Blue Book simply accumulates information about extra pitstops at the shop aside from general maintenance. Problem with that approach is that there's a lot of little things people get fixed - a rattle, something unimportant doesn't function well etc. It does not however account for real "need to tow the car" kinda problems. So overall a Jeep has a bunch of little issues, i.e. your disfunctional sway bar disconnect - but most of those are superficial problems and you can still drive to a shop to have them fixed. That's essentially what you want: A car that doesn't strand you but lets you limp out. In that respect Jeeps are reliable: you usually get in and out even if something goes wrong. Love that you headed southwest. We're heading down to Mojave Nat. Preserve in a few days - awesome dispersed camping and just gorgeous (plus a nice and much warmer getaway for February)

Aye Chris, first of all - keep up the great videos!!! Great stuff, can´t wait to be back on the road again. Get yourself a "Porlex Coffeegrinder Mini (up to 20grams ideal for aeropress) or the regular one (which does ~30gr of coffee)". These things are stainless steel, super light weight (I use the Porlex Mini with my Aeropress on a everyday basis (2-3 coffees a day) + whenever Iam out there exploring the great outdoors - it´s always in my pack. It also is easy to clean, unscrew the whole thing & rinse it with hot water - put back together. It´s got a fine grind adjustment (15-16clicks don´t have it on me right now) & the outcome is amazing for such a small, lightweight & well prized item. Morning Chris, Just remember, now that you have your heater, as you go to sleep if you don't turn it off at least turn it down. For optimal sleep conditions your body need to drop temp slightly. This can be by having a Breese such as a fan, sticking you leg out or taking your Beenie off. The slight drop in temp is a melanin trigger to make you tired and start the sleep cycle.

Probably need to take a workshop on basic car care. Now, we just take our cars to the shop, but when you are traveling and living out of your vehicle, one should know how to fix the obvious problems as you have! And secondly, how is your eating better plan going, lol?

you could probably fix that grinder permanently with a little JB-Weld. that stuff is indestructible. my first encounter with JB weld was when I was rebuilding a engine for a ford 9N tractor for my uncle. I pulled it out of the cleaning vat to discover that the entire left hand side of the engine block had crack at some point and it was glued back together with JB weld. I was 17 at the time and my uncle had owned longer than I had been alive and he didn't know it was there. log story short I let it as is and rebuilt the engine. its still running strong after 27 years latter. there are few things JB weld cant fix.

Chris, there's a tapered nut at the battery terminal who's job is to tighten the terminal onto the battery post. If you have wires attached under this tapered nut you will have a loose terminal and you will get an intermittent no start problem. If you have wires there relocate them. Any time I've seen an intermittent no start this has been the issue every single time.
