You guys are great, there's nothing else like you on YT, the fact that German folk all seem to speak at least some or often very good English is amazing to me compared to how many English folk speak German, you put us all to shame! I love the non stop back and forth humour between Christian and Vera, combined with the high level of technical competence regarding the maintenance and repair matters on the cars and all the great advice you give in a way that's easy to follow and understand, mind you, I'm still hoping for that BR Time episode, heh heh, and with the cheeky humour in this episode I'm more hopeful than ever! Keep up the great work and drive safely friends 🤪

Very entertaining and technical video. Thanks for sharing. From watching these videos, owning an LR4 is trouble. One could easily end up bankrupt if taken to a dealer for service. The amount of time, effort, and parts removed just to change an oil pump is insane.

Great episode all of you! Big old job to do the oil pump on the D4 but definitely worth doing it if you don't want a broken crankshaft down the road. Well done Christian that was very informative. I really like those hose clamp pliers, they are a very good design. I was shouting at the screen saying had you removed the small socket out from holding the timing belt to the crankshaft toothed wheel Christian lol. Vera, Land Rover only call it a generator because it seems all these workshop manuals have been designed for the American market. In the US they call the alternator a generator still. In the UK a generator produces DC current, and an alternator produces AC current. I have a downloaded workshop manual for my 2006 supercharged 4.2 Range Rover L322 and that too is all in Yank speak lol generator, fender, rocker panel. And no doubt more! Would hate to have a Disco4 with all that work just to get the fan shroud off lol

It wouldn’t be a Discovery without an oil pump issue. Even the Discovery 2 had issues when Land Rover forgot to use threadlock on the oil pump sprocket bolt. When Land Rover fixed mine many years ago, they managed to strip the threads on the sump bolts and tried to charge me to re-tap them until I pointed out it wasn’t my responsibility if they break something else while doing a repair. It was after that I started doing my own repairs as the D2 was out of warranty shortly after. Love this channel.

Another great video for us Toyota drivers to watch with a coffee on a wet Sunday.
