It’s always important to remember Jacen was not really interested in fighting Jaina, and he was distracted trying to warn his daughter. The duel was extremely circumstantial, and this should be acknowledged more-whenever VS. matches involving Caedus are made.

Iirc doesn’t it also start with her basically surprising him with a lightsaber stab? If so, he’d basically be physically hampered for the majority of the duel, even accounting for his resistance to pain.

He hadn't really recovered from the previous injuries he suffered, and so he spent the last duel continually retreating. He could have killed Jaina, I believe she acknowledges this in her POV, but as said he was trying to warn Allana and Tenel Ka.

True no one gives him the credit he so desperately deserves yes he didn’t take down the Jedi order like previous Sith Lords try to do but the way he manipulated things so he could take over the galactic alliance is pretty cool I would count him as one of my favorite Sith lords from the rule of two era

Not only that but Caedus never even reached his peak, at least in the Force. Imagine what he could have done with 5 more years learning how to use the Force and, more importantly, handle the Dark Side. He was a Sith for … what, a little over a year?

Also considering that mace and dooku have clashed multiple times in the legends version of the clone wars and almost all of them ended in stand still really calls into question the effectiveness of vaapad on every Sith.

See that "How there character affects ones capabilites." THAT is often ignored and looked down on. I realize in most VS debates people use the idealistic version of the character and just assume this character is 100% all in the fight all ready. Convenietnely leaving out many aspects that can contribute to ones victory or defeat.

23:24, i would also add to this side of the coin would be Malgus and Malak, And for the other side of the Coin which Evan called his more Chilling Side , i would also recommend Revan and Plagueis. In fact these are the side of the coin as i see most dark siders tend to either conduct themselves, Unlike the rather the calm, peaceful & tranquil Jedi.

Liked your breakdown. Like your content. Been a fan for awhile just now subscribed. Love that you used Caedus in a VS match... Here’s a VS recommendation: Darth Caedus VS Revan Reborn. Like your current match up they have a lot of similarities but both focus a little more on the mysteries of the force... not to mention it’s hard finding any character that could go Toe to Toe with Revan. Though Caedus might be able to give him a run for his money if not best him... Could come down to how they view the force itself which was very different even though they both utilized both sides of the coin.

Looking back at the Vader vs Caedus matchup...I'm still torn about who'd actually win. Even more now that with the revamped Caedus analysis. On the one hand, Vader takes the physical and nullifies Caedus's usage of his specialized tools and weapons (Mainly his darts), is equal to if not superior to him in their usage of Telekinesis (as far as the scope of their usage of it.). On the other hand, Caedus has been canonically stated to have possessed a stronger tie to the force than even his grandfather, which makes sense given that he is essentially a combination of What if Anakin didn't require his cybernetic reconstruction as well as a What If Anakin went the route of the Consular paths. He had more of a head start than Vader did on actually refining and getting a better academic understanding of the force rather than coasting on raw talent until a definitive stop-gap was placed in his raw potential by good Ol' Obi Wan. Hmm...Idk, really depends of which version of Jacen (Before losing his hand vs after losing it) is going against which version of Vader (ESB, ROTJ, Pre-TFU, Post-TFU/TFU2)

Here's one for you Revan vs Darth Cadeus.Excellent video. Loved the term The Vaapad Effect. I once thought as you did about the Super Conducting Loop. I knew Mace knew of it before the Sidious duel. I know Vaapad is not the end all but its a method,a tool, a weapon to fight the dark side. You could say depending on its wielder,their knowledge or mastery of the Force and their saber skills Vaapad in the hands of another would produce different outcomes,different results. Depa would have been Mace's heir to Vaapad as well as Caleb Dume being hers if we had somebody with the balls to write it. Caleb Dume Master of Vaapad...It has a nice ring to it imo.

@@samueldimmock694 I'd read a bit of the book, listen to the teacher and skim ahead in the class' book to see if I was understanding what was being said/where the teacher was going, and then returned to the book. And kept half an ear out for anything I needed to hear. Then it was a case of read one page. Do a page of work. Read one page. Repeat. You know all those hours where you sort of do work while binging on fanfic, wiki, or a forum? It was the pen and paper version of that.

Just coming back to this a little while after playing Jedi Survivor, where I feel the one handed Star Wars Force Wielders got a new member lol. Dagan Gera’s case feels weird in that he basically treats fighting as if he still had his other arm, as shown by his Force Hallucinations depicting him just straight up using another arm. It kinda tailored into the whole idea of his character that he can’t let the past die. I know you’re generally more interested in Legends content, which is fair, but I just felt it an interesting topic. :)

4:11 I’m gonna have to disagree with that one. In terms of both story role and character, Kyp Durron is the Mace Windu of his era. I’d say Jaina is more the Obi-Wan Kenobi of her era.

Mace Windu is one of the only dead star wars characters I have ever actually wanted to come back in the sequel movies (this was before they came out obviously, when there were rumors of a certain dead character coming back). Samuel Jackson + Purple Lightsaber + fighting style/attitude = one of the GOATS. He's actually one of the Jedi I actually like. (favorites are Jacen, Obi wan, yoda, mace, and Revan)

Leia Organa Solo vs Assajj Ventress.( I personally believe leia’s skill with a blade is equal to ROTJ Luke or Quinlan Vos, with the force skill of Obiwan with more raw force power than Luke since she had a more natural connection to the force without any training unlike Luke who needed his training with Obi wan to tap into the force at all. And she is a skilled tactican, armed and unarmed combatant and politican before she even started her Jedi training.) making her roughly a tier 4/3.5 in terms of power and skill because she trains so inconsistently due to her political duties and motherhood and it’s her experience that grows more than her ability over the years.

Legends Ventress should take this. Leia was around the likes of Aayla Secura's level or a little above as a lightsaber duelist. Her power with the Force is considerably greater being a Skywalker and all but tactically speaking Asajj is superior, having gone up against Council-level Jedi at the height of the Clone Wars and contending quite well while Leia didn't have anywhere near that level of experience.

I would actually recommend Patrick Schwarzenegger and Elizabeth Gillez for Jacen & Jaina. They actually look a lot more physicality and to their roles their faces look Scarily accurate.

As for M.E. Winstead, dunno, she kinda has a similar face to Carrie, and she's acted in the role of tough girls many times. And last but not least, she's Ewan McGregor's fiancée lol (joking but still)

I personally view Mara Jade as being roughly on par with someone like Kiadi Mundi, Katarn as Plo Koon, Jains as Mace and Luke as yoda. ( though I’d argue that Jains has Maced skill with a blade and Plos position on the council while Katarn has maces position on the council an Plos skill with a blade.)

Oh boy that'd be fun, but before a redux on hoth vs bane, i think hoth is a formidable opponent but in terms of power and knowledge in the force I'm more inclined with bane. And for the case of lightsaber skills....itd probably be similar to bane from path of destruction vs luke from dark empire, bane is a skilled warrior but his textbook techniques would start to show more for his opponent and skilled enough they can exploit it, which lord hoth i think he can do that though not as easy as some may think.

However that doesnt mean hed win outright, banes a textbook lightsaber duelist but his execution of technique is solid and can pose a threat and again force abilities. Personally bane does win against hoth but at the same time hoth does have some merit to him.

I like the revisiting of the Caedus vs Vader topic. I agree that given Vader's loss of living tissue Caedus would hold the advantage in the force, and I do think that Caedus could win by leveraging his use of lightning. With that said. Vader is a notably superior duelist to Caedus in my opinion. Caedus is clearly top tier, but I see him being top tier in the way Yoda is top Tier and not Vader. Kylo is simply too inconsistent and would otherwise get shitstomped by a mjaority of force wielders and rey is a overpowered inconsistent mary sue with no natural growth in power. The only type of videos they could be used for is post mortem analysis, and in this case, kylo only fits. Rey is too inconsistent and too overpowered to be even taken seriously or otherwise. Plus, the sequel trilogy only features two force wielders, which is why nobody likes the sequel trilogy. But that's besides the point

@@lapplandkun9273 I think Rey could still be used but she'd still get stomped. Regarding her lightsaber skills and martial arts, she's basic as hell. Her powers aren't really overpowered but seem so considering the feats we've seen even in the films. She has basic Force powers. Mind trick. Jump. Push. Pull. The out of ordinary powers she has is heal and lightning but she can't summon lightning on command. Plus she can easily be angered. As much as the writers attempted to make her the most powerful and articles exclaiming the same, they're just regurgitating bull. The books may give more context but even then she's not like Katarn, Caedus, or even Ben Skywalker.

The more I learn about NJO Jedi, the more I begun to realize that Obi-Wan is so pathetically weak compare to NJO Jedi. I compare Obi-Wan to Batman when it comes to comparative power levels between top tier NJO jedi and Justice League where both are very strong and capable in their own rights but are hopelessly outmatch when compare to its peers. If Obi-Wan were to be dropped into NJO timeline in his RoTS version, the only way he can shine through is his complete Sorusu mastery, sarcastic wits, unwavering loyalty to the Jedi and its code and the best of all, THE HIGH GROUND. Plague Does K'Kruhk have his hat? Corran (don't think Kit can dispell illusions + better swordsman). Kenobi Probably Draay? Depends on the evironment a lot. Either Zannah stonewalls and outlasts or mindfucks. Draay before going blind gives Zannah material to mindfuck.

Saba is that strong? While I focused more on her character, rather than power scaling, this surprises me. I do not know the full scope, but I know how dangerous Abeloth is. And the fact that Saba took down a body with hand-to-hand means I may have been underestimating her. Perhaps Master Nova would grace us with a Saba Sebatyne video, versus or analysis. I personally prefer the Legacy era of Star Wars and the time between the prequels and original trilogy.( Dark Times, Force Unleashed, Any story of Vader killing Jedi, rise of Darth Vader are some of the better stories of the franchise and some of my favs.) I don’t think there is a bad era of Star Wars, but personally I have mixed feelings about the NJO. I like the reestablished version of the order that allows healthy emotional bonds and adds blaster training, but aside from Mara Jade, Alema Rar, Jaden Korr and Jains solo I don’t really care about the new characters that much. I’m not saying they are bad and some of the stories are fun but I just couldn’t click with the vast majority of characters. And while I really like the YuzanG Vong I don’t know if they’re the big threat they are viewed as but some fans.( they are immune to direct force attacks or telepathy and that’s cool and a giant advantage but a lasersword and thrown debris work more than a force push already. ) the njo is fun but not for me personally. Which is funny because Legacy era builds mostly of the njo. Maybe it’s because it feels like a blend of the njo with the prequels and a smash of the original trilogy?
