This is part 1 of my leg workout which focuses on plyometrics that will help you jump higher and increase your vertical jump.
The Strength Training vertical Jump Workout
Jump Squats
Squats 5 sets of 5
Dumbbell Lunges 4 sets of 6
Dumbbell Step Ups 3 sets of 6
Dumbbell calf Raises 4 sets of 16 reps
Only do this workout once per week.
After this you will do strength training exercises which will increase your power and vertical jump.

Maks P The Truth I really found this video commendable but. Have you thought about - Renshoov Vertical Jump Expert(Do a Google search if you want)? It is an awesome one of a kind product for learning vertical jump exercises without equipment as a pro. Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my brother at last got excellent success with it.

Hi, should u do strength and plyometrics training separately or can u mix them both at the same time like squats, deadlifts,depth jumps, side to side jumps in 1workout? Ty!

I went from sitting on the bench and also barely being able to dunk - to averaging numerous dunks per game, being a starter, and winning the state championship right after following this vertical jump training! very very helpful. I'm 6'4" and I'm dunking. Been training verticle for 4 weeks. Definitely do seated box jumps , explosive training will get you like 3 inches in a week. Good luck everyone

Actually for jumping you want to have small, high calves. Also called sprinter's calves.

This worked after 2 weeks and I was able to dunk consistently, but for some reason, I've lost it. My vertical went down and after a month of doing this, it didn't come back. Still working on it again

Harvey Sioson Hey Harvey, When I first dunked I was also 5'10. At first I could only touch the rim but after 8 week of using special exercises in my vertical jump program for jumping higher I was able to dunk. it depends on it weight and height of you are 4'11 definitely not able to dunk but I've seen ppl under 6ft dunk but what I do believe is that any1 6ft2 or over should definitely be able to dunk I don't mean every1 bcos it depends on your weight your strength and age

Ok guys yes this does work to increase your jump i have gained about i would say 5 inches overtime it does work! Do this 3 times a week and you gotta work hard! If you dont you wont see results, also i have seen that these workouts got me running a little bit faster and it seems when i got into a slump i didn't know what was wrong and when i did calf raises i would finally get that extra inch to my jump so yes this does work

Good talk on the calfs. I had a hot argument with my buddy about having big calves to jump but I dont think so.

hey maks ! yoo im gonna start doing plyometrics to increase my vertical, right now im 5'10, can hang on rim with one hand and two hands, i have a 35 inch vertical and a 92 inch reach i'd say .. will plyometrics help me dunk ?

Plyometrics could help as long as that is your weak point. If it isn't then you might see much better results by increasing your strength and doing weightlifting exercises such as squats, deadlifts, and dumbbell lunges. hey i was wondering i know that weight training is great for explosiveness but can i do strength training with bodyweight or will that be training endurance and not explosivness?

how long do i have to rest then to test my vert agn? after doing this i didnt have soreness the next day and i went on to test my vert,i couldnt grab the rim anymore. so i tried resting for the following and tested it agn on the 3rd day still same result. btw i am 173cm

The BIG PARTS of dunking are quadriceps, glutes and hamstrings. Calves, core and shoulders are the smaller part.

Im 5'4.. the only way a recruiter will notice me and hear my name is if im dunking in games with ease..when I jump my highest,,im about 1 foot away from the rim..if I follow this exact video,,how long should it be before im dunking..?? Please answer..

Yes. I started vertical jump training at 15 which is when I had my first dunk at 5'11" now I grew to 6'1"-6'2.

I ask because I touched the rim friend, one day I can get a good grip, but then other days I fell short, what it is?, why not break the legs?, or I do wrong technique?

BRIGUGLIO FEDE Iam no expert on dunking but I have watched quite a few videos on the approach going in for a dunk. If you have grabbed the rim before then it clearly means you have the strength to do that every time. I'm thinking that your approach leading into the dunk is poor or not consistent. Perhaps trying searching for videos on 'approach leading to a dunk'.

You're either that or someone who doesn't lift because they make the excuse that they "dont want to stunt my growth" or "I need my body to develop first" just because they are too lazy to put in work. Nothing wrong with not wanting to lift, but giving lifting a bad name when you don't know what you're talking about is ridiculous
