@@yankaitan8648 i don't know much about his history with Nike, but in high school he won two state titles in 4:16 (1600) and 9:13 (3200) i believe. he was 9th in the Heartland NXN, and didn't place high at nationals for NXN. so he was comparable to someone like Tyler Day. A guy who really worked hard and blew up in college. He had a huge breakout steeple race in 2013 or so running in the 8:40s, which is wild consider he hadn't run that much faster in the 3000m without barriers at that point. he was a michigan athlete, so maybe he felt like his success was with Ron and wanted to go back to that kind of training. As we saw in this video he seems to work really well for his body. and he looked SMOOTH AS BUTTER in that prelim. i think he wins the title. But either way i really hope he makes the team. seems like a smart, funny, kind, and thoughtful person :)

@@yankaitan8648 as the other guy said he got dropped by Nike because he had a bad last 2 years. He went pro around 2016-2017 after winning the NCAA title in the steeple and then struggled with injuries. After he lost his contract He started training independently with a small gear deal from tracksmith and has been doing pretty well since.

Sad and awesome to see these Olympic trials level guys training on good ol' Ferry Field! Historic track, getting ready to be dozed for parking. Someone needs to show this video to the AD. That track serves a great need on campus, and even Elite guys still use it.

Sad. I live where things are being bulldozed for "progress." I had a trail course just one house away. The town is growing and they took away my cross country course for a road, a new high school, a stadium, etc. Just over three years ago they took away my flat and clean grass field (XC course) where I ran barefoot. It was just 1/2 a mile from my house.

I'm so old, I'll throw it out there....48...ran the mile back in highschool...I was a slightly above average HS miler, nothing special. But when I watch these track videos it's like crystal clear, like yesterday, the days running on the canals, shirt off, moving at a pace I could never touch now. Really feel that pang to be young again. Anyway, may sound sappy, but hits hard at times. Peace.
