When you say it's a treat, my thought was, yes it is a treat for Asda as they get idiots to shell out (no pun intended) £4 for these. 2 scotch eggs = 4 link sausages + 2 eggs = £2 at most. Glad you liked it, When they had these for sale at the Canteen fresh food (costing a £1 for two) I took them home at when cut open I seriously thought the yolk was plastic, i.e. the articial eggs they are producing in China. I like my scotch eggs tohave a hard-boiled yoke. BTW cold food is supposed to be served at room temperature, NOT straight out of the fridge (except Ice Cream of course), that's why you should have preserves and chutneys standing for 30 mins+ out of the fridge before use. Not that they need putting in the fridge in the first place.

You know, whenever I see packaging for UK food, it always comes with a huge list of (often dodgy) ingredients. Scotch eggs should be only a few ingredients: - eggs - mince meat - some spices for seasoning of the mince - bread crumbs That's maybe 10 ingredients in total. What you get is ... 30 ingredients. Whenever "meat" is involved you see tons of filler because the meat is nearly always cut down with loads of flour & other cheap filler which massively pads the ingredient list. If you look at the percentages of meat & egg, there's 28% meat filler vs 35% actual meat! Over 40% of the meat is not meat!
