As brutal as the working world is, she needs to enjoy her childhood( no bills , no stress, time to explore what you are passionate about,etc ) I was never really in a rush to start working. I’m at the point where I’m looking at wfh opportunities and then set myself up to never work for anyone else. Work is rarely enjoyable. YES. 🔥🔥🔥 I mean I actually love being an adult, but I live like a kid. Growing up with controlling parents and the oldest of my family, I had to grow up fast. I was like a little adult that looked after my younger brothers for most of my childhood... Now people kind of hate on me for being childlike in a lot of ways but I don’t care, I love my life so far, I wear whatever makes me happy, I eat healthy, and I’m remodeling a trailer so I don’t have a house payment and can live simply. Those who say being an adult sucks are doing it wrong IMO. But yeah living like I do is a threat to society and there’s this whole unspoken war on the Tinyhome movement because of that. To the first person in the advice segment, holy shit, I felt that. I was in a really similar situation last summer going into the fall. I’m not sure what your relationship is with your parents, if they would get mad for you turning down the job or not but if it’s something you truly do not want, I would talk to them about it. If you do take the job, here are some pros! Remember that it won’t take up all your time. It might seem like that at first, but as you get used to the new schedule you’ll see there are still plenty of hours in the day. Earning some extra money might be nice if you want to do fun stuff with your friends. Going out to eat somewhere? It’s kinda fun to say, “don’t worry, guys, I got this.” It’s always cool to be the one with the money. You might find this job gives you *more* freedom in a way. Or, hell, you can use the job as an excuse NOT to do something, which is what I often did because I’m socially inept and don’t spend time with friends outside of school. You have every right to feel frustrated with your situation. I was pissed. All the money I earned went straight into a college fund because I was 17 and in my senior year, not 15 with plenty of time left to worry about it later. If you’re seriously worried your ADHD will get in the way of this job, would you want to try looking at different job options with your parents? If they’re insistent on you working, of course. In my opinion, I don’t think it’s fair they’re pressuring you this way. You’re still a kid, you don’t have to worry about growing up right now. The thought of getting a job and “growing up” is scary, but if you had to try it, I think you’ll see that the anxiety you’re having about the job is worse than the job itself. Best wishes to you

Ah thanks, makes me want to get a job in the future more, which is a good thing ig Though I'm not sure if it'll ever work out in my schedule without me working for so long I'd easily burn out since I'm trying to take classes over the summers in the hope of possibly graduating when I'm 17 and leaving the nightmare that is the school system slightly earlier.

Been a citizen of kurtis town for a good few years now and I JUST started listening to your podcast today because it always takes me a long time to branch out, even with the creators I've been watching like bro I've been a die hard H3 fan and when they first made the podcast it took me about a year and a half to even entertain the thought of watching it... but I'm glad I'm here now because these are amazing! I love the dynamic of the podcast and I'm glad I finally decided to watch. All luv

Last year I had a specific part of the year where I went through a lot of difficult stuff. During that time I listened to Very Really Good for months. I listened to episode 100 through 1 at least and it made me feel so much better. When I felt alone with my thoughts I would just turn on an episode and it helped everything. Your podcast is the absolute best, thanks for making jt

I know the speech is not her own words but when a kid says "I want to contribute" and "I want to be treated like an adult" sounds like she wants to be respected, heard, have her efforts seen and taken seriously instead of being diminished because she's just a kid. None of this has anything to do with being a busy entrepreneur and workaholic. This work/productivity mindset is harmful to adults, can you imagine the burnout and pressure it could do to someone as young as 10?

A FELLOW ADHDer sjdhfkjsdhf Honestly, you don't have to grow up. I turn 21 in a week or two and honestly, it's something that I think about a lot. I used my job as leverage with my parents saying that if I was independent enough to have a job, I was also independent enough to make my own decisions. When I was 16, I found that tasks that kept my hands busy were better for me because I wouldn't get distracted as much. It was also extremely essential in terms of helping me with time management (even though I still suck at it). ADHD really messes with my ability to conceptualise time, and having it blocked out in front of me helped me to be able to tell how much time had passed and so forth. A summer job is really good to help with stuff like that, as well as people skills and task management. My memory still has not gotten any better tho, and I still need extra time to process literally everything that I am told to do lol

when i was 12 {i’m 14 now} i had a business thing and it sucked, it started with just me selling dolls to my relatives and neighbors for pocket money but then my dad who has a business guilt tripped me into keeping it going bc “it’ll give you experience for when you’re older”

i’m not making any accusations, but if grant cardone doesn’t think a 10 year old is a kid then that really does say something about him. there are certain ways that you can’t treat kids. he doesn’t think 10 year olds really count as kids. that’s a concern.

@Alyakismydutchname3 жыл бұрын
@@tessarae9127 Yes! What kind of person puts (or allows) false eyelashes and matte lipstick on a 10 year old??? Tinted lip balm, maaaybe some mascara, and possibly a minimal (or fun and childish) eye shadow look is about the most someone should put on a child and only on rare occasions just for fun. I know a lot of kids would love to do the backstage hair and makeup thing, but I just don't understand why the makeup artist gave her the same look as a 20 year old and why her parents allowed it. I truly don't get why a parent would be so enthusiastic about their kid rejecting childhood either, but hopefully they still let her have a little bit of a chance to enjoy being a little kid. I guess it's nice that she's excited about her future though 🤷🏽♀️

funny book recommendations for the person who asked about writing comedy: - Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal - Christopher Moore (religious satire, it sounds stupid but trust me) - Thank You for Smoking - Christopher Buckley - A Libertarian Walks into a Bear: the Utopian Plot to Liberate an American Town (and Some Bears) - Matthew Hongoltz-Hetling - Calypso - David Sedaris - The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - Douglas Adams - Horrorstor - Grady Hendrix (Hendrix writes pretty good horror-comedy if you're addicted to serious writing like i am) - Fool - Christopher Moore I think reading comedic books is a great way to get better at writing comedy. it's important to remember that you don't have to write happy stories to write comedy. In fact, a lot of my favorite comedic books are super depressing diagetically. it's all about written voice. feel free to reply with your favorite comedic books!!
