MEGATRON Mercedes were kind of stuck though. If they didn’t pit, Ferrari would have pitted to get the undercut and still be ahead of verstappen if vettel pitted on the same lap . Kind of like Hungary 2019 with red bull and Mercedes where red bull were stuck and Mercedes with the car in 2nd had nothing to lose with whatever they did
@MrBboyflexibi4 жыл бұрын
Tom Bardsley why would Vettel be ahead of verstappen ? Hamilton was ahead , he putted was behind Verstappen
@tombardsley30814 жыл бұрын
@@MrBboyflexibi because vettel's tyres were in much better shape when he was following Hamilton (he was still putting in great lap times once Hamilton pitted which allowed him to jump ahead). Ferrari were going to leave him out until they had the verstappen gap and as soon as that had occurred they would have pitted. Mercedes were stuck cos Hamilton was struggling with the tyres so were worried that eventually the Ferrari would just overtake them either via an undercut or on track which is why they pitted first to give Hamilton the fresh rubber to stay ahead and assumed would be easy to overtake verstappen

@ZPERO, who's engine would they get? Redbull wasn't able to switch away from Renault. Mercedes have said they won't supply any further teams, maybe they could get a year old Ferrari one (not sure how much that would really help).
@the-real-zpero7 жыл бұрын
I think they FIA should get rid of all the energy recovery crap in the current engines. Nobody can afford these engines except Ferrari, Mercedes and Renault (to a lesser degree). If they really want to keep turrbo V6 for the fuel efficiency, at least they could get rid of the energy recovery nonsense and just use turbo v6 engines with antilag. That would solve the problem of drivers not being able to drive the car hard the whole time, so we would get better spectacles, it would solve the cost and complexity problem, and it would potentially solve the sound problem, because come on, who doesn't want to listen to antilag sound... If they do that, they may not need to go back to that, but I'd much rather have a McLaren-Ferrari than a McLaren-Honda at this point.

MrVictory27, let's be honest, overtaking isn't the same like during the 2000s era. We had more overtakes the last few seasons than we had between 2000 and 2008, but they "new" overtakes aren't as spectacular anymore because they go down to fast (DRS...). The old overtakes were long an dreadful, fun to watch and really intense. But without DRS there would be almost no overtaking because the cars are impossible the follow. So right now we are in a state were no one is happy

I think showing highlights is better way. The rest of the race basically was just boring.. nothing interesting happened. But if u guys wanna see that every driver is driving like 2-6 sec behind each of other drivers over 20 laps then go for it. And u can see easily the whole race without paying even a penny. Just google "F1 live stream" and choose the top link what is probably totalsportek.com and there is like 10 links where u can see F1 for live either practices, qualifying or races and for good quality (if u find good link it can be 4k quality what is like over 2000p, but im not sure can ur computer/phone handle such a big quality, but mostly 1080p is good enough)

Vettel should've won 2017 and 2018 WDC, too bad Singapore 2017 and Germany 2018 ruined his chance
@formularguments73352 жыл бұрын
No he shouldn't have. Germany 2018 was one of a myriad mistakes he made that year. Ofc the most costly was that one. In 2017 he still made more mistakes than Lewis but had a stronger year than 2018. In 2017 overall the title was probably out of vettels hands anyway due to engine failures and reliability issues etc. In 2018 he bottled it with the best overall car. also Singapore 17 and Germany 18 were both his own doing

PROPER post race highlights on the official KZbin channel instead of just two minute pop videos a few days after a race. Welcome to the modern era F1. Please stick around, we are loving it!

Ballsy overtake by Ocon. Respect for that; it was reminiscent of the overtake Häkkinen on Schumacher going around a back-marker in 2000 at Spa. :)

Had Hulkenberg successfully pulled the overtake on Ocon too at T1 it would've truly been epic

True.

+Kris A What do you think of Spa THIS year, when Raikkönnen (also a Fin) made such a move on Bottas and Ricciardo (no backmarkers?) Vettel also squeezed between a backmarker ( i think Vandoorne's Mclaren) at Austin around Bottas.
