Great vid I just got one ,,But mine cuts without the ground clamp I wanted to know what the ground clamp is for ? Its a no touch cutter

You should still need a ground....No touch means it uses high frequency start and sustains the arc without contact.

A lot of welding hoods have a cut setting. It is usually around a shade 5 or 6. That is what I typically use when cutting.

Just doing a little math in my head here, so bear with me. Plasma Cutter consumables aside (which are low), for the retail cost for consumable cut-off wheels (single or 10-packs and factor in how they are used or abused while cutting), plus the time it takes going much, much slower utilizing those cut-off wheels. However, there is no chance a Plasma Cutter will fully eliminate the need for any grinders, due to grinders being so diverse in abilities (flap disks etc). That said, cutting 1/4" or thicker material can be pretty darn slow and all added up, will consume a LOT of project fabrication time. With a Plasma Cutter machine cost of ~$250 (usd), it's not difficult to calculate how long it will take a Plasma cutter to pay for itself (assuming you already have an adequate air compressor/tank already) just over buying many, many abrasive wheel single or 10-packs packages. Now as a bonus, factor in the vast amount of time saving with a plasma cutter over cut-off wheels. You can begin to see a machine that almost has a net cost of ~$0 if used somewhat frequently. I like that kind of math and economics......... Great review! Side Note: (Opinion) When it comes to Plasma Cutters for a CNC tables, avoid High Frequency start at all costs! The hassles and massive time spent insulating, faraday caging and trial and error getting things worked out and the CNC table functioning properly without errors. It's much simpler to just use a "No Touch start" and not have to battle the signal interference issues to begin with. I'm not saying it's impossible to use a HF start for a CNC table, just that why deal with the demons if you don't have to.

I didn’t show it, but thin metal is pretty easy for most of these cut 50 machines. I have a video of the BestArc coming up where I’ll be cutting some thin sheet
