I've only known about axe for a few hours starting today, and as a pikachu player since 64, I have total respect for how he handles his pikachu. In this round, it's easy to see how defensive he is playing, with his precarious smash attacks towards the beginning, but the way that he uses his quick attack is the way that the creators of smash meant for pikachu to be played.

Why are there no bans on a 3/5 set? ive always wondered this.

Stage bans and Dave's stupid rule combined make the stage list run short in a best of 5 set since Melee has a 6 stage list. At game 5 let's say player2 is counterpicking, they only have 4 available stages considering player1 banned 2 stages. Out of those four, it is possible that player2 won on two of them so he cannot pick them again. Now player2 only has 2 stages to pick from. The two stages left might have been banned by player2, so he might not want to go there (he banned them for some reason although legally he can still go to them).

axe is so technically capable it allows him to play the player and play any situation....M2K is consistently relegated to punishing from grab combos similar to armada punishing from slight errors - either way both players can't FORCE a win like mango or (i think) axe can...they're talented enough to just murder you all day all night if they find their zone. I think armada is on that level too tbh but idk if M2K and the older players are...the game evolves

first stock (axe dies): a grab by m2k threw it, but please tell me you saw the desperate down smash m2k threw because he had no clue where axe was moving to and he wanted to keep his position 0:23. closes out axe's stock with a grab combo fair (from sheik so lol).

M2K is the cheesiest dude ever...yeah sure count up his wins but he's always done it with hilariously superior match ups..at least armada broke the meta with peach and mango broke the meta by actually playing the player and not strictly throwing combos of the matchup....like how can you even be an m2k fan when so many players are playing so epicly exist

m2k only knows how to grab combo....it's borderline embarrassing after watching enough footage. Meanwhile, mango just godmodes and does *whatever* he wants to you to take your stock
